UC Berkeley Fall 2020: Transfer Thread

@uctransfer2020

Did you receive any emails about cal week? I haven’t received any emails from admissions so was a bit concerned. I haven’t accepted my offer yet but assumed I’d be getting emails about that.

@djbassbaby Yes, I got several different emails about Cal Week both before and after I submitted the SIR.

@djbassbaby , if I’m not mistaken they did a whole week of live webinars and such last week in lieu of Cal Week. I imagine many of them are available still.

@uctransfer2020 @“jesse’sgirl”

That’s odd, not sure why I haven;t received any emails. Did you receive them to the same email you got notified about the portal update? / When were they sent out?

Hopefully they post recordings of the webinars.

@djbossbaby I have gotten a different email from them pretty much every other day or so since decisions came out. All of these emails went to the same email as the portal update email. One of the more recent emails had a link to where you can log in and access some of the recorded webinars from Cal Week. Maybe check your spam?

@uctransfer2020
Weird I didn’t get any of those. I’ll reach out and ask, could be a technical issue. Just hope they didn’t actual mean to waitlist or reject me :neutral:

I only self-reported the ap tests that I got 4 or 5 on, but I think I’ll have to send all ap scores at once (including the ones I didn’t do well on) we can’t choose which scores to send right?! is that going to affect anything? should I still send the score?

Accepted!

@shredder47 did you receive an update recently yet? I’m waiting for mine too :frowning:

@arilenn yeah I got mine, my admission was sustained. I think they just have a heavy workload rn so its taking a bit longer. As long as you didnt drop any major required courses you should be fine

Does someone know if I can get a major and minor degree with total 120 credit units as a transfer student?

Anybody having trouble uploading their photo for the cal 1 card photo id. The site isn’t loading for me.

You have to submit AP scores especially if you listed them in your app. I doubt bad AP scores will hurt you sice they’re only supposed to help you to get some college credit but I would contact admissions about it

Honestly how come you didn’t just report all of them?

They won’t care. Send the bunch.

@Pepsi1022 @shredder47 @arilenn @Ohm888 On the day we got our acceptances I submitted an update form about a course I dropped (My admission will probably be fine since the class isn’t for my major and doesn’t affect my units or IGETC), and then submitted another one a week later since I hadn’t heard back about the first one. Now it is a few weeks later and I still have no responses from my update. I keep checking the conditions of admission for the class I dropped to be removed and am checking my email constantly. I also emailed my admissions officer directly, and no response. I am getting worried because I want to SIR but don’t want to until I get a response. I am afraid that I’ll never hear back from admissions. Is there anything else I can do?

@kaitlynwang
I’m not sure there’s anything else you could do, but I’m in the same boat. I submitted changes to my schedule because the drop deadline at my college is coming up. I wanted to find out if they’ll allow me to drop some classes. It’s been over a week and still no response. Keep us posted.

does anyone know about the transfer connect, it was one of the tasks on calcentral, and I accepted it, but is it mandatory? do I have to take a summer class after accepting it?

Transfer edge is the summer program. You are not required to opt in to the program or take any summer classes if you don’t want to. Transfer connect is a specific class they are offering this summer for new transfer students.

@hoshizora Thanks, right, I got 4 and 5s on some but then a 2 on ap bio… I knew it was bad and won’t get me any credits.

@uctransfer2020 thx, so can I change the reply and decline it instead of accept? and can I still take summer classes without accepting that?
