UC Berkeley Haas 2018 Transfer Thread

@kt_ay that makes sense. thank you! i received a B in calc 2 and A’s in the rest of my courses so I hope everything is ok. The comments about the interviews here make me so anxious. haha

9 days people…9 days

I have not been invited to interview and I was wondering if that is indicative of anything. Is it a bad sign that they did not want/need to interview me? I am getting a bit stressed as decisions are coming out soon.

@lucasdaboiii It can mean a lot of things, but the honest truth is that no one can give you the solid answer you’re looking for because no one really knows.

You could read through the developments on this thread, like what people have heard and perhaps some insight from previous applicants and try to piece together an answer to your question. But my best recommendation is to not worry about the interviews at this point because admission is completely out of our hands now.

@Ak1097 funny thing is I’m more looking forward to ending this semester than I am to checking the portal next Friday :)) I admit though time is flying and its insane to know that it’s already coming up so fast!

Does anyone know or hear anything about if Haas might do the precore summer program for new transfers this year?

@businessgirl123 they do it every year from what I have heard.

I don’t see why they wouldn’t. And absolutely do it if you’re able.

for those of you that get admitted, can you just post a quick recap of your gpa and extracurriculars?

I’m very clueless to this topic so excuse me if this questions is off but has anyone recieved an invite for the regents scholarship?

incorrect info so edited out

You don’t get an invite. They simply give it out.

@Ohm888 For UCD they sent out an invitation to apply for the scholarship. The same doesn’t apply for UCB?

No, berkeley just tells you you won. Usually a week or so after admit announcements.

I’m getting more hopeless as the day gets closer and closer.

@BLK What are your stats?

Does anyone know how many words the Haas Supplement is? Just trying to mentally prepare when I apply @briank82

From class of 2020:
"The essays are the principal means we have of gaining insight about each applicant and their interests and reasons for applying to the Haas Undergraduate Program. The Haas essay question was created to provoke honest, thoughtful responses to help us get to know you. In addition to content, essays are evaluated for critical thinking and writing ability, skill in organizing and presenting thoughts and the relevance of your answer to the question posed.

All applicants are required to respond to the following essay prompt:

What does it mean to be humble? What area of your life do you struggle most with humility and why? Describe strategies you are using to cultivate humility in this area of your life.

Your response is limited to 500 words. To avoid a session timeout, we recommend you compose your essay in a word processor using its word count feature then cut and paste your essay in this space"

With only 4 days left till decisions, I just want to say that it has been an absolute pleasure interacting with all of you brilliant individuals. All of us have given it our 100% to attend one of the most prestigious business schools on the planet so admission or rejection, do not let friday define you as a person. Lets keep working and dreaming upon transferring like we have for the past 2 yrs. I wish you all the best and infinite success.

Having said that, Friday needs to hurry tf up… :-w

Quick question: did anyone apply for the UCB Alumni scholarships? I finished my application last night, and I think the ones for transfers are due today (4/23). Anyways, a Haas alum I know suggested I apply for them as he was awarded one when he transferred. Does anyone know the timeline of when the awards are given out? Thanks! Also 4 more days! I’d really like to see who makes it, and I hope we can all connect this summer during the Haas Pre core, yes we will have precore I called last week and it’s during summer session D. I’m also curious as to how payments go for tuition? Is it all just one lump sum payment for the semester or is on an annual basis? Idk, if anyone has insight that’d be great.

(FOR UCLA BUS ECON APPLICANTS: My friend in SoCal went to a transfer event and he said decisions may be available as early as Wednesday 4/25. Don’t quote me tho)
