UC Berkeley Regents' and Chancellor's Scholarship means Admission?

Hi,

If I was offered candidacy for UC Berkeley Regents' and Chancellor's Scholarship, Does that mean I got into UC Berkeley?

<a href="http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/university-california-berkeley/602520-must-read-berkeley-admissions-including-regents-chancellor-s-scholarship.html%5B/url%5D">http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/university-california-berkeley/602520-must-read-berkeley-admissions-including-regents-chancellor-s-scholarship.html</a>

I think it said something about getting in if you are considered for the scholarship

Thanks

Yes... congratulations.

Gryffon5147 thanks for your answer, but if you can, could you tell me how you know?

It's written everywhere. It's like saying that the sun will come out tomorrow. You don't ask how you know, you know because it has happened every single day before, and that its pretty reasonable that it will happen again. It's the same thing. All people offered Regent's or Chancellor's have been offered acceptance the years before...

You're not offered a chance to compete for a scholarship if you didn't get in... your application has already been evaluated by Berkeley. Didn't you read the thread you yourself have put up?

yeah. i mean, they make over 10k offers of admission i think. and they only consider about 2k for regenets/chancellors. so theres obviously no reason to believe that you wouldnt get in.

and everyone i know who got invited to apply for it are people who are ivy hopefuls and stuff anyways.

It's 200 scholarships considered. If it was 2000 it wouldn't be a big deal lol.... :)

no 200 get it. 2000 are considered for it. big difference.

Alright thanks for your replies everyone, I am more sure now.

The Reason why I ask is mainly because there were these two other scholarships, some leader one and some alumni one that i think did not affect admissions chances.

Also, I was wondering:
If I get money in addition to the 1k with the scholarship, does it count as financial aid money or scholarship money?

congrats! will they continue sending them out? or was today (or whenever OP received it) the last day?

The award is merit, not need. Congratulations!
