oh god that is not encouraging…that’s so strange that general admissions were released but your cousin is a TAG applicant and still hasn’t heard back. ugh. when did UCR say their admission decisions would be released?
UCR was supposed to be out by March 31st for everyone. But some people still haven’t. It’s so strange because it should be fast for TAG applicants. Hopefully, UCI doesn’t have the same issue.
This is so true. I applied to UCR and started freaking out because I didn’t hear anything all of March. I just barely got my admit notice yesterday.
@madaus Why would all decisions for UCR be out by March 31st? The last possible date for UC transfer decisions is always April 30th. There were definitely people admitted to UCR in April last year as well.
@uctransfer2020 they started releasing their transfer decisions on March 1st. That’s why by the end of march most should have had their decisions. I got mine on the 11th.
But obviously not all decisions are out yet for them. It’s just odd because Tag applicants are just hearing back now. While other applicants heard back a while ago.
@madaus I’m thinking it has something to do with how high your GPA is. UCR, from my memory, rolls out admissions as such.
UCR actually did not start rolling out transfer decisions until March 10th this year. Just wanted to clarify for anyone looking at this next year trying to figure out when their decisions will come out lol.
But I do agree that it is weird that some of the TAG decisions are still coming out after regular applicants have already been getting their decisions for about a month. However, UCR is not like UCI where they specifically say that TAG decisions come out first.
Is it true that UCs tend to notify those who they want the most or are highly qualified first?
Ugh I just hope it’s today, I’m genuinely tired of waiting.
do we get an email saying that the portal is updated or we have to check it directly from the portal?
@sadstemstudent the portal is usually updated a few hours before an email is sent out
@Goodguyryan12 Not for all UC’s, but for some, like UC Santa Cruz and Riverside.
Does UCSC have a regents scholarship?
yes! @shredder47 here’s a link with some info: https://financialaid.ucsc.edu/types-of-aid/scholarships/ucsc_merit_scholarships.html
does the portal format change before decisions come out? I know with UCR it changed to “we are now reviewing your application” as a sign of things moving forward, not sure with UCI
Have scholarships been announced and how do you find out if you got one?
I think they come out when they announce your financial aid package
@tnnguy I was wondering the same! Rn in my portal it just says: “We have received your Junior application for Fall 2020 admission.”
same same
i think if uci’s portal was going to update to say that the application is under review or something, it would have changed by now. so i’m betting it won’t change until the admission decision is actually posted.
