UC IRVINE Fall 2020 Transfer Thread

I tagged as psychological science too :smile: . Seems thereā€™s alot of us here.

Hey, nice! And right? Makes me happy :smile: Good luck, fingers crossed we get in!!

@tinymango you too!

I am sketched out. I am going through TAG as well but I used to attend a CSU and now my acceptance depends on if UCI considers the class I took at cc equivalent to the one I failed at CSU. I am on edge lol it depends on that course. If itā€™s cleared I have a 3.46 gpa, if not the F drops it to a 3.33. My counselor expects them to replace it but she is not 100% sure.

Same here. Tomorrow marks the first seven days of Aprilā€¦
I havenā€™t slept more than two hours over the past week.

Since TAG application is coming out soon, I am kind of freaking out because during the fall semester I took Calc 2, and it was one of the required courses to transfer to UCI(Grade of B or higher), I had to drop the class with a W. I am currently taking it in the Spring, but since I put it on my TAG application that I took it in the fall, will that affect my TAG decision. (I later changed it on my UC application) Econ major btw, 3.69 GPA

I am pretty sure you still honor the TAG agreement as long as you make up calc 2 and honor the pre req. Had you failed the class it wouldā€™ve been worse so good teq.

Not sure about UCI but a Cal counselor told me itā€™s fine if you take it at a different school theyā€™ll replace the grade

@home i think u should be fine as long as u update your classes and grades on UC apply (TAU) for the fall semester

So the UC Transfers by Major website says that the GPA range they show is the 25th to 75th percentile of admitted students, where 25% of admitted applicants had below the lowest value and 25% had above the highest. My GPA is slightly below the lowest on the range for my major so Iā€™m hoping this means iā€™m okā€¦ anyone know anything about this? :slight_smile:

@sbpbs2020 It does not really mean anything for you to be a little bit below the 25th - 75th percentile because obviously there are also people who are admitted with lower GPAs than that. That website is mainly used to get an idea of what range is generally accepted for a specific major, but you are not guaranteed to get in if you are within/above the range, and you are not guaranteed to be rejected if you are below that GPA range.

is it a high chance that decisions will come out this week? I have a feeling itā€™s going to be next week, possibly Tuesday, due to the idea that itā€™s still technically considered early because decisions for UCLA and UCSB will come out around the 20th so UCI TECHNICALLY has until then to send out decisions. TAG possibly has until the end of next week too

@tnnguy if UCI follows the chart, TAG should be this week because this is the last week considered ā€œearly Aprilā€ since next week Berkeley releases decisions on 17th and their date says ā€œmid-Aprilā€

@tnnguy I would guess TAG decisions should come out sometime this week because I think of ā€œearly Aprilā€ being the 1st to the 10th, ā€œmid Aprilā€ the 11th to the 20th, and ā€œlate Aprilā€ the 21st to the 30th, so that would mean this Friday is technically the last day of ā€œearly Aprilā€

I really do think for tag itā€™ll be this week. I didnā€™t even apply tag, but the sooner tag is the sooner mine will come haha. I think all universities are having issues this year. My cousin tagged to UCR and still hasnā€™t heard back. I applied there regularly and heard back early march.

honestly april 1-10 is considered early april

@uctransfer2020 exactly

Iā€™m trying to be productive and get some hw done so time passes faster lol this wait is agonizing

Any idea what time we should expect the portal update if it is today?

@tinymango we really have no idea, 530 is our best guess at this point due to the portal being updated at 530 last year
