i’m really hoping they decisions tomorrow!!
I would contact one of the admissions counselors about this to confirm with them. They might be more lenient regarding the pass/no pass for a required course because of covid-19, but it’ll be best to confirm whether or not it’ll be okay.
@sadstemstudent I think just be careful. I don’t know if its the same for your school, but for mine, doing pass/no pass can affect your GPA in a bad way. When calculating GPA with pass/ no pass classes they will count it as a C. And we all know how much C’s can mess with GPA. But check with your school just to check if they have the same system going on.
@sadstemstudent Are those classes prerequisite requirements for your major? If I remember correctly, the page you linked states some major requirement classes may still require a grade and it varies by campus. I agree that you should contact an admissions officer before making a decision.
if they are releasing decisions so late for TAG applicants I don’t know how much longer they will make regular applicants wait for …smh
When looking for major course articulation via assist.org, what year were you guys advised to look at? For UCB the counselor told me only to refer to the 2016-2017 articulation, and that the more recent versions are not what they use. Did anyone hear something like this for UCI?
Also, sorry this is a long post I’m just freaking out for the 50th time, Assist.org shows this for my major in agreement to UCI:
"Students interested in this major must meet the following requirements:
- Meet all basic UC admission requirements with a minimum grade of C or better
- Have a cumulative UC transferable GPA of 2.7 (3.4 for TAG)
- Complete 60 semester or 90 quarter units of UC transferable credit by the end of the spring term prior to the fall quarter of enrollment
- Complete the UCI Lower-Division Writing Requirement"
Of course since I TAGed, I have all of the above requirements complete. However, then Assist.org continues on for three more pages with a list of “Lower-Division Major Courses” but I don’t know if these are all also required? Or just recommended? Does anyone know? I have about 2/3 of the listed courses complete but not all.
@frogluvr What is your major?
English
@frogluvr Based on this directly from UCI, all of those are just recommended courses: https://www.admissions.uci.edu/apply/transfer/requirements.php
The only actual requirements are the ones that you listed.
@uctransfer2020 thank you for looking into that :’) i think those listed courses are part of UCI’s Humanities Core, which yes, now I see is just recommended. Hopefully since I have everything in the recommended except for a course in History I will be okay even if TAG doesn’t work for whatever reason.
Do you guys think someone from UCI admissions peeks into this thread? just wondering. I am sure they know desperate we are to hear from them.
Why do I feel like it’s not today lol
i would assume they have better things to do hahahah
I feel like we all lost hope in a sense. We got excited so many times for nothing lol
I don’t know if this matters at all, but this year freshman applicants received their first wave on March 20th, a Friday.
WAIT GUYS I think I just got accepted!!! I got an email from the CAMP Program at UCI (this program is for minority students in STEM) saying congratulations on my acceptance!!! I’m so confused because I thought I was gonna hear through TAG. For your reference, I’m a mechanical engineering major.
Good luck everyone!!
Is your portal updated?
congratulations!!!
@danielaliz If that’s true, then congratulations!!! I really hope they start releasing decisions.
