no. They give you only one offering. So what ever offer they give you that’s the only one. You can decline their offer and apply for the housing you want. But there’s a risk. You will be out on the waitlist. You can also go out of your way and that means go to the fb UCI housing pg where students ask other students to take over their lease. And chances are that some students are letting go of the housing you are interested.
No worries! I’m glad I can help in some way.
UCI is definitely an amazing school and is moving up the ranks. So cheers of you decide to come here
I got an email from a while ago from the Office of Financial Aid at UCI a while ago. Are there going to be additional financial aid awards sent out or is that all we’re going to get?
I’m a California transfer student.
GPA: 3.8
Major: Psychology
Tag: Yes (UCI)
IGETC: Yes
Pre-Rec: Only missing Calculus.
So I tagged to UCI and I have everything done but Calculus. I looked on the UCI page and they said for Psychology B.A there wasn’t any Pre-Recs and it just had the 3.4 GPA. On assist they stated that “there are no major pre-rec required for admission to this major” but they had like lower division classes. But, on TAG they said to have major course work done and pre-recs. I’m confused. I thought I only had to have a 3.4 GPA and the basic stuff like (units, 2 English classes, and math) done for admission. Will my TAG be voided?
thank you for responding! i called and I asked them before dropping out of calculus, and they said that psychology b.a does not require pre-rec for admission and on the website it just had the gpa. but my friend said she thinks i have to finish everything and im super scared now! i thought I just needed the 3.4 for psychology b.a.
@ilove1D39 I think you should be okay. On the UCI admissions website (https://www.admissions.uci.edu/apply/transfer/requirements.php), it even shows that there are no special requirements to be accepted to the Psychology B.A. major as a transfer student other than the 3.0 (3.4 for TAG) GPA and of course the regular UC admissions requirements (60 semester/90 quarter units and the 7 course pattern).
Also a general message for anyone that does attend a UC. Let it be here at UCI or any UC. if you’re coming from a semester system let me tell you. Get to work and don’t slack off on the quarter system. I’m telling you from personal experience. You cannot play catch up with the quarter system. Your grades will suffer. Classes get serious on day 1. Some professors will go over the syllabus while other professors won’t. There’s professors that don’t go over it and get down straight to business. They expect you to cover that on your own time.
Also, usually whatever your letter grade after the midterm, 90% are the chances that will be your final grade.
Hoping that decisions come out tomorrow since it’ll be the 2nd! I’m super nervous even though I got the required gpa for TAG and I had no additional requirements. Still it would be nice that I at least have a future at one college ?
@svoxut I just read the article, and from what I’m getting at, it seems to pertain mostly to high school students in terms of SAT as well as A-G courses for them in high school. As for transfer students it seems that the only changes for us is there will be no cap on the amount of pass or no pass classes that you indicate for your transferable classes. I think…
