First of all Congrats to all those who go accepted in as a transfer student! But many of us, including myself are just dying to know our results. Based on my what I'm hearing, people that have high GPA are getting their notice first in line. I'm currently an Mechanical Engineering major and I applied to UCI, UCSB, UCLA, UCSD and etc.

I'm wondering if there are any body out there that have been rejected to any UCs that they applied who are science or engineer majors, and who got accepted for any engineer major out there.

I just hope this would give people a better understanding of the acceptance/rejection ratio. I mean there aren't a CCC after we finish all our transferable courses, we all should get a better feeling of what might happen, and just try to plan ahead accordingly.

Thanks in advance!

im anxiously waiting too. haha. i applied as Aerospace engineering at UCI, UCLA, UCSD and mechanical at UCB.

none of my friends who are engineering majorers received accpetance or rejection letters yet. it usually takes more time to evaluate engineering applicants for the reviewers as the major is crowded, especially something like ME or EE.

i know i have to just wait, but i cant help it.

idk about engineering but my friend got in as chemistry major with a 3.2 GPA.I believe he got in through TAG since he is misssing a significant amount of pre-reqs.

@passwordis123 I know that some people got in through tag thats an engineering major. To be honest I didn’t get riverside, from my understanding riverside requires igetc which I manage to finish. On the other hand schools like Davis, or sd doesn’t require igetc. That’s why I’m getting nervous about what to think. I guess my main question is what happen if I don’t get any UCs? Besides appeal what else do people do?

@ray congrats to your friend, but how would he qualify for tag if he is missing alot of his preq? I think I’m in the same situation as well, does anyone else out there got accepted even though you’re missing some preq?

ok so I haven’t heard anything from UCI, SD, SB, etc. But I have been rejected from UC Riverside and CSULB for electrical engineering. My GPA is 3.1 and no TAGs. My friend for the same major was rejected by UCSC and his GPA is 3.3, I think he TAGged for UCI and UCSB.

well if I’m correct UCSD 2011 TAG only required to have a 3.0 GPA by Fall Semester and IGETC completed in order to be qualified for TAG.He has this requirement done and just finishing pre-reqs.Seems as if you get TAG,you’re pretty much in at the UC.However, for engineering I read that they are more strict about students have to finish all their pre-reqs and necessary finish IGETC.

@sam0318 Did your friend finish his minimum uc transfer requirement? A lot of time transfer engineer wanted to focus on major related courses such as chem, physics, and math, they forgot to take their basic art and human course that’s required to transfer. I heard that from quite a few people who are engineer majors. I mean with 3.3gpa you practically can go to ucsd, tag if he/she wanted to. Maybe thats the problem?

@ray I’m not too sure about finishing igetc, because if we finish igetc+major preq, then that will add up to about 75+ units. It just didn’t make senses to me.

well. i just got accepted from uci as aerospace engineering. I had TAG. so far i took 2 GE classes(polisci and anthro) and am taking music and history this semester. for engineering major you dont need to complete IGETCE or whatever. i mean it is impossible to complete IGETC along with major related courses in 2 years for engineering majors.

@JYcccTransfer: sorry dude,I made a mistake. As passwordis123 said, its impossible to finish IGETC and pre-reqs.For engineers,it’s mostly pre-reqs since there are a lot more than science majors.IGETC is just to full fill the 60 units that you may need to cover if not the all pre-reqs cover the 60 units necessary to be consider a junior.
