UC residency - proof

I just looked over the UC residency requirements and they want you to prove that you were physically in CA 366 days before the semester starts.
Have anyone been asked to provide a proof that they have been physically in CA for 366 days? What kind of proof? What about proving you were here during summer?
I am a married student and my husband fully supports me, so I don’t work. We have a joint account, so you can’t see which one of us made the transaction. I was wondering if I will be asked to provide a proof that I have been physically present and which proof I will have to provide.
Do you submit the proof with the Statement of Legal Residency? How long does it take to get it approved?

Thank you for advice!

They don’t expect you to have been physically in the state for all 366 days. They expect you to have the usual evidence of residency: your drivers license, lease/mortgage, bank statements, tax returns. No matter how supported you are financially, and how little you have in your own name, you have to have your name on tax returns, and a DL/state ID are also individual. Your joint bank account is still a bank account.

You fill in the info on SLR on the UC websites, then IF they have questions or doubts they can ask for the documentation to back up whatever you have claimed on the SLR. Pay attention to the process: it’s a one-chance thing- once they have made a determination you can’t add additional info.

All of this only happens after you have an offer from a campus. When you get an offer that you intend to accept you do the SIR (statement of intent to register) form. That triggers the SLR form (which will have a deadline, varies by campus). Time for determination is also variable, depending in part on how straight forward your info is.

Hello! I am in a similar situation, and am wondering how the residency determination turned out for you? If you have any guidance please let me know.
