@dwabner have you heard anything?
@Dayyygo CONGRATS!
anybody hear back yet?
@VoTortoise Nothing yet. I believe UCSC, SB and R are the first ones to release responses, so I’m not too worried yet. Plus tagging in Davis should work out for me.
Does anyone know if you had a half-semester class and just finished it, can you report it somewhere?
Transfer Student
Major: Computer Science
GPA: 3.42
TAG: No
Prereqs: missing core CMPE 16, made up with PHYS 5A
IGETC: YES
From last years 2014 transfer thread, it appears that computer science majors are usually the LAST to hear back and i’m not expecting anything until the last week, April 24th-30th. If anyone in computer science gets accepted/rejected, post here.
As the UCSC decision date approaches for transfer students, I thought it would be appropriate to share our results!! Please include you UC gpa and UCSC major, as well as any other comments or concerns! GOOD LUCK EVERYONE! \m/
BTW did anyone watch that video? lol =D> =D>
@VoTortoise
Thank you!!
And congrats on your acceptance!
Yeah, I’m leaning towards UCSB right now only because it’s more accounting oriented but I’m not ruling out SC, it’s a great school
@VoTortoise Congrats on the acceptance! I go to WVC, haha nice!
I just checked again but I still have the generic text: “Our notification period begins midnight (Pacific Daylight Time) on March 17 and concludes on April 30. All admission decisions are posted in the portal, and admitted students are also notified with a letter sent to the current mailing address. We will begin posting out decisions on the portal on March 17 according to the first letter of your last name in the following time blocks:”
I haven’t seen any Business Management Econ majors accepted for transfer yet on the threads so I’m hoping they are accepting by major and we just haven’t come up yet. Hmm…
Congrats again!!!
@apocalypso @dwabner Good job on the extra research you guys did. There is still hope for us still waiting!
@jonuni94 Absolutely! From what I read all over the place it doesn’t look like they accepted even 25% of the total people they will end up accepting. That’s the notion I got from their FAQ for transfers Anyway.
@dwabner so I’m guessing another 25%+ still to find out about transfer decisions? Their admit rate is around 50% if I remember correctly, right?
@jonuni94, just checked and last year it was 57.2%.

@apocalypso Good to know. There is still hope for us! Gonna be a grueling time waiting for the rest of the decisions.
I might check out previous year UCSC transfer threads to see if there is a trend. For example, it might be my major, they might release decisions in batches every week, etc.
@jonuni94 sorry I meant 25% of total admitted students. So by a quick calculation comparing to last year out of 8000 students, only 1000 got accepted until now, we should expect 3000+ more to still get in given the 50+% acceptance rate. These are rough numbers based on my estimations by comparison of another year though. So basically the message is to not get desperate
Yeah, I’m nervously waiting. I think my chances are good, but I really like UCSC and am nervous about that chance that I might not get in. Hopefully our decisions come out soon, good or bad.
Is anyone else going to be checking tonight?
I got accepted this morning!
