. We had stopped thinking about the waitlists from the UCs - he was set to go to out of state at a good school. So now it feels great to have a good in-state option close to home. But I believe UCSC CS should have similar good prospects as the other better ranked school due to the proximity to Silicon Valley. And importantly proximity to home is what makes us parents happy - but we will see what the son decides.
