UC School's High School Course Requirements

So I know that UC colleges only look at your A-G courses to calculate your GPA, but I’m not entirely sure which classes are my A-G courses. I have all my core classes (math, science, lang arts, social studies) and I have a couple of electives. At my school we need to take 6 other electives to graduate, and for UC colleges only 1 is required. Does that mean that I will put the electives on the part of the application for coursework other than A-G, or do I put all the classes I have taken on the course list?

I have asked an admissions officer about this, and he didn’t really give me a detailed answer. All he told me was that the courses you put on the coursework other than A-G is the courses that are not UC approved and it demonstrates a particular focus or interest. Some of the electives I have taken include Digital Electronics and Robotics Engineering, and I am wanting to major in engineering. Would that go there, or is the coursework other than A-G only for classes you take outside of high school?

Sorry for the long post, I’m just really confused. All help would be appreciated, thanks!

Look through that. I believe the UCs use the same rubric.

For courses taken at a high school or community college in CA, the UC Doorways site has lists of what courses are in what category.

https://hs-articulation.ucop.edu/agcourselist#/list/search/all?f=

If you are a CA resident, use that site to look up your high school - it will list and categorize them for you.

If you aren’t from CA, you can enter course names but, it is more hit and miss.
