Is it worth the time and effort to appeal to Davis if I got accepted into Irvine.
I applied to UCSD, UCD, and UCI for mech engineering.
I didn’t get into SD, but I felt I had a strong chance for Davis with a 2070 SAT score, 4.2 GPA, and after taking 11 APs.
Especially since the average SAT and GPA for Davis last year was 1900 and 4.0 respectively.

Any advice would be appreciated, thank you

If you don’t have legitimate grounds for appealing, don’t bother. It will only prolong the admissions process. If you appeal simply because you think you “deserve to be admitted”, then all the rejected applicants should appeal, but then there wouldn’t be a point in rejecting them in the first place. Legitimate grounds for appeal mean any important information left out of your original application (grades, AP courses, test scores, adversities, etc), recent extraordinary achievement, extreme financial difficulties (usually means a parent lost a job), severe medical issues, or recent significant personal circumstances that would compel you to go to Davis.

You already got accepted to Irvine, which is a great school. If I were you, think rationally before considering to appeal. Don’t do it out of sadness, anger, or entitlement.

Thank you, its going to take some time for me make a decision but I’ll keep what you said in mind. I just want to be 100 percent sure I did all I could to get in

Plus, engineering is extremely impacted. If you appeal again for the same major, you’d most likely get rejected again. (Please note that appealing due to a change in major doesn’t count as legitimate grounds for an appeal)

Considering your GPA and SAT, I can tell you did work hard. Don’t cut yourself short just because you didn’t get into one UC.
