well according to the uc website, the accepted 70%+ of applicants that were in the 3.6-3.9 range...it isnt very hard to get into UCD, great school, but some of u guyz make it seem like UCD is the next Berkeley or LA. It also says that UCR has an average GPA of a 3.6...do u actually believe that people below 3.6s cant get into UCR??

I highly doubt that the provided admit percentages are wrong. However, they can be a bit misleading. The convinience of the consolidated UC application allows overqualified applicants to often apply to certain UCs as safeties. Most applicants who are matches for Berkeley or LA will apply to places like Davis and Irvine as safeties. Likewise, most applicants who are matches for Davis and Irvine will apply to Santa Cruz and Riverside as safeties. This inflates the admit averages for most UC campuses. The UC campuses realize this and admit a larger number of applicants knowing that many may not choose to enroll. Thus, the GPA averages for admits are a bit higher than is really necessary to be admitted.

A more accurate number for this purpose is the average high school GPA for enrolled freshman, which, for Davis, was a bit more than 3.7 in 2003 and, judging from the admit GPA trend from 2003-2004, was slightly higher for 2004. For UCR, according to their Common Data Set for 2004 the average high school GPA for enrolled freshman was 3.42.

Also note that all of these are **averages/b, meaning that there are people who got in with both higher and lower GPAs for these schools.

Yea, r2b2ct, I agree. You have to take into consideration the myriads of applicants that have WAY UP THERE GPAs like 4.5 or something.

Anywayz, 4 MORE DAYS!!! GO AGGIES!!! ACCEPT ME!!!!!!!! PLZ!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

About the average gpa- keep in mind it is accepted, not enrolled.
Enrolled is about 3.72 or something like that. Anyway- I got 3.7/1240- I think a 3.4 with a 1300+ SAT has at least somewhat of a chance. Don't give up! You'll love it here. Go AGS!

i dont want to go to davis, but it looks like i may have to....fu(king ucla. but davis is a great campus and to those of you who want to go but havent visited and have heard bad things, DONT BELIEVE IT, i practically live on the beach of southern california and i still think davis is BEAUTIFUL and id be delighted to attend.

puredankocity, ehy, me too. I live right in the heart of Orange County (well, maybe in an arm or leg). Anyways, I keep getting questions like... Why do you wanna go to cow country? Aren't you gonna miss the beach? Isn't Davis a little bit far?

ahah.. I usually disregard those questions cuz I know Davis has been totally misrepresented.

Also, bout the UCLA thing, I try to not think about it...... there's so much injustice that you'd go crazy if you do..... I know some people who really deserve to go there and didn't get in, but some that absolutely does not and got in easily (Also, I doubt it depends on the essays either cuz my friend's essay was pure, pure crap). There system is just not fair.

ANWAYZ, 3 MORE DAYS!!!! GOO AGGIES!!! PLZ ACCEPT ME!!!!!!!!!!!

Dude, nvm!! Can't believe you compared UCD to !!! *!!!!!!!!!!! Screw you, dude!

I wish I had applied to UCD. I don't wanna do business undergrad after all, which was the reason I didn't apply there. :(

UCD is my first choice. The last college town in the UC's. Didn't get get into UCpussA , and though i wanted to get in i wasnt planning on going. I liked the campus but not many people were actually there.

ANy way i just got a call from UCD CAL AGGIE ALUMNI ASSOCIATION.
My interview is in Salinas, its only 15 min long. ANy one else get the call yet?

This is directly from UCD site: " Alumni from each of 35 regions review the scholarship essays and UC applications in February; interview a selection of applicants in March, and notify recipients in early April."

b.......u.........m...........p

Oh man! 2 Days left........... pressure's on!... I feel nauseous already................. heart, pounding...... hands, trembling....... eyes, twitching.......... ears, wiggling......pimples, bursting all over the place!...... Good luck to all the Aggie Hopefuls!

I'm Just Wondering because I'm a Junior yet to know a lot more about College Admissions... Does College look at Senior Year First Semester because you do have to turn in the Mid year whatever and i was wondering if Colleges look at that to calculate your overall GPA. I really dont think i can get top 4% by the end of Junior Year and i think its possible if they looked at the betginning of Senior year too...

UC's don't request mid year reports. They only ask for transcripts after you've been admitted.

The countdown had begun! Who's staying up with me tonight?! Let's go, Aggies, let's go! Woot, woot!

When are results supposed to be posted? The 15th? I doubt they will be up at midnight...

I wont stay up, i'll look tmrw morning.

Are they releasing all decisions tomorrow?

^ I don't think ALL decision, but many of them will be posted tomorrow.

I hope I get in since I got rejected from SB =(

im hoping i get in.
my cousin goes there and would definitely expose me to high doses of UCD social scene

Are the decisions coming out midnight?
