UCD or UCSD TAG

I currently have a 3.6 at my CC, I want to tag to UCSD but due to their 3.5 requirement, I don't know if I can maintain my gpa.

SHOULD I tag to UCSD and risk it or tag to UCD to be safe and apply to UCSD through the regular tag?

(I have igetc completed and everything for UCSD, I don't really care which school I go to but I do like UCSD a TAD bit more than davis.)

If you really have very little preference between the 2, I would say you should TAG Davis and be safe. If you tag San Diego and end up with your GPA being too low, then you kind of wasted your TAG. You probably have a good shot at San Diego regular decision with your current stats.

I am in a similar situation and was choosing between tagging San Diego and Irvine. I ultimately decided to tag Irvine just because I wanted to make sure that I would have one school I would be happy with, for certain.

I agree with Candles. The point of TAG is to have an absolute guarantee as an ultimate fallback in case your other options don’t pull through. It’s better to have at least one guaranteed option and one uncertain option than it is to have two uncertain options (if that made sense).

Tag Davis
