^^^stoneimmaculate, I'm in a similar position as you. Let me know how things go. Good Luck!

Sure, you do the same and good luck to you as well!

Geez, if I get rejected again, I'll certainly know why. I feel so anxious about my applications. :|

College: Mount Holyoke College
GPA: 3.848 w/ 20-21 credits (Do any of your schools do +/- grading? Just curious.)
HS GPA: 4.321
SAT: 730V, 710M, 760W
Recs: My old faculty adviser is really busy, but I know she'd write a great rec. Old Phil. prof was really supportive (also recommended me as a grader to her replacement).

I'm afraid my SAT scores put me at a disadvantage, since they're not SUPER fantastic.

I can't wait until we see some essays! I'm going to write my own prompt... I want to start off talking about number bases, and then about arbitrariness, and then discuss how the discipline of CS is a great real-life example of existentialism at work.

<2 weeks until EA deadline!!! So nervous. So nervous.

yeah, I know Caillebotte, I'm freaking out trying to perfect my essays right now...

Im pretty satisfied with mine so far-they're a work in progress since september.

There are just too many applicants. Sigh.

aha! so YOU'RE my competition!
haha, well, i'm also going to be thrown into this applicant pool, and i hope to the FSM that i don't drown.
stats? eh..
3.8 college GPA for now. (4.0 in both my majors, but the horse-****ing "gen ed" classes slapped me upside the head with "B"s)
4.3 (W) HS GPA... thanks to senior year. Soph. year was far less brilliant.
SATs were mediocre, imo. my writing score was fantastic, 800 and a 12 subcore on essay.. but i'll refrain from humiliating myself with my math score!
5's on all APs senior year, but i got a 2 on AP Biology Soph. year.

Recs are great. I know that for a fact. I also devoted a lot of time to campaigning and organizing fundraisiers for a certain politician from Chicago who happens to be vying for the presidency... O, Bumma i forget his name.. ;)
I've won several writing contests and such.. and am in some honor societies.
Oh, and i work 35 hours a week for Bank of America.

Good luck to us all!

stoneimmaculate, you can retake the SAT's after starting college?

Damn son. Excellent stats. I don't think Chi-town cares too much about standardized tests, so I wouldnt worry about the math. I have a 3.94 college gpa, 33 ACT, a bunch of APs, and some other goodies.

thanks Caillebotte, though your stats are great too :)
I'm also thinking about scheduling an interview. Anyone else planning on it?

Hi!
Stats:
GPA: 3.8 (predicted)
SAT: 2300
Extracurriculars: debating, writing articles for college newspaper

Are you all applying for Financial Aid? Do you know if applying for it hurts one's chances? What are UofC's FA statistics? FA matters to me.
And by when should one turn in the total application (obvious, but still...).

applying EA, guess i really need to get going with that option essay...

just breathe, yeah I'm scheduling an interview. Its pretty convenient for me because I live in the suburbs.

muse, if you are a domestic applicant, Chicago is need-blind. The deadline for EA is in about 10 days. RN is about 1 month and 10 days

Hey everybody!

Best of luck to everyone. I'm getting nervous. I'm applying from Tulane University. I just scheduled my interview for March 14th (one day before the deadline eeck!!) Anyone else waiting until the last day??

i requested an alumni interview, but no one has contacted me yet...

should i call the admissions office? have you all heard already?

Just had my alum interview. Incredible.

what kinds of things did they ask/discuss?

stewartudall -

I'm applying from Tulane also.

I scheduled my interview for later too -- March 13th.

Better late than never!

My interview is in 8 days. I'm quite nervous.

Hey all,

Please don't be nervous! My interview was more of a fluent conversation than anything else. The "questions" the interviewer asked served as guidelines to push the conversation in the right direction. They were just general questions that anyone would ask a person as if they were trying to get to know them better. I know it's cliche, but the best advice I can give is to just be yourself and let the conversation and dialogue come naturally. Listen and react to what your interviewer says. Engage yourself wholeheartedly and come across as a passionate, mature, and intelligent individual.

Good luck and please be sure to keep in touch as the coming months unfold.
