@ironchariot Shut up, that was funny! bwaha.

i agree with fangirl. that was funny in the most self-depracating way @iron heheh

Accepted today to Georgetown!!! What a wonderful start to the week :D

I’m actually motivated to do homework now ^.^

Wow, congrats neontissues!

thanks I95!!! i’m beyond happy and excited i feel as if all my years of hard work and sleepless nights have come to fruition somehow. it’s like a huge weight has been lifted from my shoulders sigh

Good job, neontissues.

If I don’t get in to Chicago, I’m going to apply to Georgetown.

I saw that someone had made a results forum and nearly had a panic attack! I thought they posted early!

Congrats neontissues! That’s amazing. I got deferred today. I’m actually not upset, and I think in large part it’s because of the amazing community in this forum that has kept me sane the past few weeks. So thank you, guys, for being so amazing. :)

Congrats! Saw your post on G-town discussion also. My DD is in the same boat. Expecting G-town letter today (we’re in Nor Cal – mail arrives @4pm) and UChicago on Wednesday. She also applied UMass-Amherst EA as a safety and should find out this week also.

Curious: If you get into UChicago in addition to G-Town, which would you pick? (Maybe you have other choices ahead of those two?)

@DGDzDad if I had to pick between the two, it’d be UChicago because I just love is so much. UC also has better Econ and compsci programs than GU, but I like Washington D.C. As a city better. I highly doubt a UC acceptance, but if I do receive one, I’ll only apply to Harvard and Yale RD and then nap my way through senior year (only partially kidding on that last part).

Mostly it’ll come down to financial aid and how much money I get vs. how much my family can pay. Both schools meet 100% need so thankfully I feel a lot better about my future in the financial sense.

Is the date for sure the 18th? I thought Yale was supposed to come out tomorrow but it came out today… is there a possibility that UChicago could be earlier, too?

Congrats neontissues!! Man everyone’s getting good news! I’ve been so behind on this forum haha

Neontissues: You sound just like my DD. She loves DC. If UChicago was in DC and Georgetown in Chicago, it wouldn’t even be a contest. Even so, she is hooked on UChicago and would likely choose it over G-Town as well. If she got into those two, she would also stop working on about six other apps and only apply to Harvard and Yale RD.

p.s. DD just called me and said she got into UMass, so at least she’s going to college and won’t be living at home forever. Mail not arrived yet…

Decisions haven’t been finalized at UChicago yet, or at least that’s what the admission guy told me about 30min ago

^^^ in that case, UChicago, if you are still considering my daughter’s app, rest assured that she would definitely take UC over Georgetown!!!

Just got rejected from Penn, hopefully Chicago brings better news :(

Congrats neontissue! I’m extremely excited for you(:

@carter does that mean the 18th isn’t set?

@king don’t be discouraged! think positive thoughts! no two schools are alike :)

@neontissues Congratulations to you! I just got my Georgetown acceptance letter in the mail too! <3

@king I agree with ita; don’t feel discouraged - you’re gonna go to great places and I know you’ll end up at the right place for you ^_^
