Feeling pretty horrible after getting deferred by Penn. Hoping Chicago being better news</p>

My friend who also did UChicago EA just got accepted to her ED school… I can’t wait for my D :(</p>
<p>Just got rejected from Vanderbilt…Hopefully Uchicago turns out well</p>
<p>Guys, we crossed the two day mark a few hours ago. Assuming a 4 P.M. release time, we have 45 hours to go.</p>
<p>I don’t think it will be that early…probably 5 PM for the first batch of emails.</p>
<p>I consider 5 P.M. to be evening.</p>

I think it makes sense as they are constantly revising the lists to accommodate students who have withdrawn their app as they were accepted elsewhere ED.</p>
<p>I hope they come out by the time I get home from school on Wednesday. Sometimes I love being on PST.</p>

<p>Three of my friends all got into cornell engineering today, one friend into tufts, and a bunch of umass/lesser known school acceptances as well. It was a happy day for my Facebook feed!</p>
<p>But to everyone who has been deferred/rejected: my heart goes out to you. Every sad face emoticon breaks my heart one small fragment at a time. Please don’t let your unfavorable news ruin your vacation; it’s your last one as a high schooler (<em>gasp</em>)!</p>
<p>@Dad what is your daughter interested in studying? Congrats on the umass Amherst acceptance! It’s a great public that I think is quite underrated in the national perspective.</p>

<p>thanks @yalesoon! my winter break will not be restful at all, what with the college supps to write, lit papers to compose, projects to start/finish, plus all that christmas & new years shenanigans. </p>

<p>(also, i think decisions will come out at 5 pm, similar to cornell, upenn, a bunch of other schools, etc. that’s pretty “late afternoon” to me)</p>

<p>You guys all must have really smart friends haha. I think the valedictorian at my school is going to community college and I don’t know of anyone else even applying to out of state schools here. Not that that is an indicator of smartness! But still, it’s an interesting contrast haha d:</p>
<p>@ultra that would be so cool! i’m overly excited for all the admitted students days and possible georgetown meet-ups that are bound to happen in the spring. it’s almost more exciting than going to college ^.^</p>
<p>@yalesoon i feel like my HS’s c/o 2014 is an outlier in terms of sending kids to top schools. in the past we only get one ivy-er a year on average, and most as athletic-recruits. my friends are all ridiculously talented, smart, driven, you name it. i’m super proud of all of them! but the two of my friends who were accepted to cornell are twin brothers with a set of cornell alumni parents…so it’s kind of hard to say no to that kind of package! </p>
<p>also, i hate shopping. it seems to go against everything genetically built into me, but i’m way too lazy to browse through stores for more than an hour at a time. xmas shopping is literally a chore. receiving presents…now that’s another story
