UCI Acceptance

It doesn’t mean anything, stop worrying. I’ve gotten UCSD and UCSB letters of admission but still haven’t heard from UCI. UCI isn’t doing it in batches, they’re just putting them out as they get to them.

They haven’t released any business administration acceptances yet. So if you are losing sleep over UCI and you are a business admin major…well then you probably shouldn’t be in that program anyways.

I’m a Philosophy major and I just got an email from an admissions counselor two days ago telling me they’re backed up and having trouble and just sending them out as they get through them. So just relax. Especially if you got into SB and SD for example it means your UC application was just fine and you’ll almost definitely be getting into Irvine.

Btw, I only got that email because I emailed him and asked. Before everyone freaks out about not getting an email lol

^ ahaha, good save

The tension on these forums around this time of year is so palpable I figured I needed to throw in that FYI before there was an e-riot. “Why the F&@K did he get an email and not me!!! My life is over. I HAVE NO FUTURE!!!” LoLz

Haha seriously, they are fun to poke fun at though.

I’m taking 17 units and working this semester so my time is quite limited in the area of panicking. Not to mention I mean, just study past trends, if you’re GPA is at or above the average, you’re fine, so shut up and sit down.

PS. Apologies for comma overload

Seriously. I mean anxiety is natural but panicking and freaking out, prepping your appeal letter even though you have a 3.75+ is just plain unnecessary.

If you’ve finished a few pre-reqs, have your Math, English and a majority of the IGETC finished, you seriously have nothing to worry about. Especially these people who’ve gotten into SD and SB, which are higher ranked school, worrying something is drastically different somehow about Irvine. LoL

Yeah I haven’t received a single acceptance from UCR, UCSD, UCI (and for obvious reasons UCLA, and UCB), but there is nooo reason to freak out right now. These babies come out in waves and thats all there is to it.

I have a 3.66 too which isn’t as high as some of these people freaking out.

I just want to go to UCSD though, UCLA would be a gift but I’d rather live in SD anyways.

Pretty much. You’ll get em man. You’ve got a great shot at UCI, UCSD and UCR, almost definitely. And you have a damn good shot at UCLA and Cal. We’re all nervous and what not but let’s all wait it out and just let them come when they come.

I have a 3.999999999999999, all pre reqs/ IGETC done, and 5,000,000 hours of community service. What do you guys think, do I gotta shot?

No.

Sorry yellowsnow, your repeated acts of peeing in the snow then offering it to the children at your volunteer center in guise of the title “SnoCone” have finally caught up with you. The UCs will all find out. They will put you on trial before the court of public opinion and sentence you to banishment from Verona from hereforth, evermore.

Your family won’t want you. They’ll tell every CSU and Private university in the country. Your education is finished. Your life is doomed to one of solitude and shame.

See you in 5 years cleaning trailers in Paranoiaville, Alabama.

Much love,
thelongshot

Got a my acceptance email at 3am this morning.

Admitted with a 2.9/3.1 gpa (lol?)
Albeit, as an Anthro major.

Anyways, Im pretty sure I failed one of my non-transferable UC courses though so I’m afraid I’m going to get rescinded. Also, I said I would be IGETC certified, but I don’t think I’ll be able to finish my foreign language reqs before I transfer…

Am I fux’d?

Gawd I needed that laugh… Thanks yellowsnow and thelongshot!

EJ20- I tried to answer the foreign lang req in your thread. As for the non-trans course, I have no clue. Good luck though and congrats on getting in!

Based on the posts of the last few days then I’m guessing that admissions are just being put out on a daily basis.

My packet came in the mail today, not that impressive looking.

I received my “packet” as well…

I should post my stats for future prospectives. I got in on monday. There are other schools I’m also admitted to that I’d prefer over UCI.

4.0
CS
No IGETC
All prereqs that articulate
9/10 first essay 6/10 second
Some EC’s and awards, a job

Got in this morning, 3.7 Psych major. Didn’t really finish many of their pre-reqs.

I really don’t know much about UCI, any thoughts? I know it’s an up and coming UC, so pretty decent academics? What about location/social life/ residential?

UCI is a really nice school. The freshman orientation is the best, but if you’re going to live in Irvine in the apartments or transfer housing, you’ll have a good time. Irvine is a great city. Not very exciting, but really nice.

However, I’m trying to transfer out of it to go to UCLA for business economics. I’m keeping my head up, and I have a 3.82 UCI GPA, but I hear that UC to UC transfers are damn near impossible. If I don’t transfer, I’ll see you next year!
