UCI Fall 2019 Transfer Thread

@jesflo9 I’m also having trouble accessing the site. The whole site won’t even load for me.

@jesflo9 @npound Did you TAG UCI? Maybe you will be hearing soon. Last two years they have been releasing on a Tuesday either the week before or the Tuesday that UCSB also begins decisions (which this year will be tomorrow)

@fisher316 Do not drop the course yet… Contact UC Irvine and inquire about whether the course will impact your TAG application or not. If other class prerequisites are met and this course isn’t necessary to complete a prerequisite then it will most likely not affect your TAG… But make sure this is the case before dropping the course!

Fake news they heard back March 20th last year

Last year March 20, 2018 is a Tuesday.
For this year, March 19, 2019 is a Tuesday.

@jnunez32

It will be around 3pm if it is tomorrow. Let’s hope

Yup last year March 20th same as UCSB on a Tuesday.
2017: it was the week before UCSB. Also on a Tuesday.

Tomorrow March 19th is a Tuesday.

Do you guys think it’ll be in waves or all at once? I highly doubt UCI will release every decision on the same day but I read somewhere it might be like that. Gives me hope because I’m already overthinking and stressing.

Was it 3pm last yr

@pgn1005 I think it’ll be in waves. Last year it was mostly TAG applicants that heard back on Tuesday, March 20th but some non-TAG applicants seemed to have heard back too. Students kept hearing back well into April.

@StudentAgain Nope, I didn’t tag to UCI. So are TAG applicants more likely to hear back on the first day? What if I’m like super qualified will that maybe push my date a little earlier?

@npound I think itll be mostly TAG applicants that hear back first and then random applicants thrown into the mix. Some people will definitely get rejections first round so I don’t think it has to do with how qualified you are

Hi everyone.

My stats

GPA:3.43
Major: Psychology (Want to do Cogni Sci)
IGETC: Finishing now
Major prereqs: Finishing Calc 1 rn, took stats my first semester.

Idk if anyone can answer but I actually dropped the last class I needed for the major (Python Language). From my understanding my TAG would be rejected because I wouldn’t have finished my major prereqs but my counselor told me all I need for tag is 3.4. Can anyone clarify?

@npound Last year I mostly saw TAG applicants posting their admissions decisions on the first wave but some were also non-TAG applicants. I do not know if they release decisions for students with higher GPA’s sooner. I guess we will find out soon (hopefully, lol).

Again, this is all just me speculating based on last year and the previous year.

Wishing you all the best! I know I can’t stop checking the forums/twitter/portal haha

@StudentAgain they also release rejections first round? I checked last year and all the other previous years’ threads but no one posted rejections until the end of April, or am I mistaken?

@pgn1005 I also noticed that too but I’m not sure. It could also be people who were rejected didn’t post? But it does seem like they weren’t sent out until the end of April.

@CAHLOS Hey, I can answer you question and concerns. I also recently just dropped my Python course as well as am a Psychology major (plan to switch to Psych Soc. Beh.) I talked to multiple counselors both at my CCC and UCI and they’ve all stated this course will not revoke our TAG. On assist.org, it states that perquisites for the major do not all need to be completed prior to transfer (specifically our major, not others). Rather, Python is needed to graduate later on if you plan to switch to Cog. science, which means you can retake it at UCI. I hope this helps and take some stress off your back! Just know I am here in the same boat as you and can further clarify is needed!

do they send out h2h early as well? i did h2h but not tag -__-

@LunaLeandra Oh my god thank you so much! That makes me really happy to know. I really did not like that class and I do not wanna risk my GPA.

Here is another question: Do we need to maintain the 3.4? I see many people are confused about that.
