Hi I start my college this fall 2020. I got into UCI and UC Davis for biological sciences but now I can’t choose. I’m on the pre med path.
UCLA is my dream school and I want to transfer to it (maybe).
Ranking wise Irvine is on top and I love the location as it’s near the coast. But what are your thoughts?
Davis and Irvine both have medical centers, so you can’t really go wrong in your choice, but, my daughter and her friends were prepped really well for MCATs and PCATs at Davis. If you get a chance to visit, look at the faces of students on both campuses. You will see that the people at Davis actually “look” happy.
A happy student is a successful student so go to the school where academically/financially and socially it is a fit. If that is UCI, then great. If it is a UCD, even better. Your choice, your life.
No bad options between the two but make sure you have a backup plan since 60% of “pre-med” students never make it to the application process.
