UCI&UCSB transfer

Good afternoon,

I am applying for UCI&UCSB for fall 2014 major in economics. I am pretty stressed right now because the admission results will be released next month. I probably earn a gpa of 4.3 after the winter semester, and I got 1 eng and 1 math class in progress in spring. I didnt apply for TAG. Do I have a chance of getting accepted? Cuz I read lots of posts here and many ppl got accepted last year earning a 3.7 or higher gpa for econ major. If you got any experiences or ideas please share with me! Good luck for all the applicants! Thank you

It is not possible to earn above a 4.0 GPA in college, so I am not sure how would earn a 4.3. Have you completed an introductory course in microeconomics and macroeconomics, in addition to Calculus I and Calculus II (for UCSB they accept Calculus I & a Statistics course. Also UCI wants two social science courses that are not economics, such as psychology and anthropology. Without at least the golden 4 complete, both are automatic rejections. Once you have the golden 4 complete, your GPA and having the above courses done should make you competitive, especially if you’re a California resident. (extracurricular activities help as well!)
