@CreatorStarx I think this is it, yet as @kibbles said, its possible to send it and no ones stopping anyone. Idk why someone here called me out as a liar when i said this same thing.
Thanks for the share.

Agreed Just puzzled that people were being called “liars” for suggesting that LOCIs could be submitted lol.
@kibbles @TheGuy1 @CreatorStarx No one called anyone a liar. But congrats for getting off the waitlist. To clarify sending in a LOCI has no factor for UCLA. It’s a coincidence to link sending something in and getting admitted. It really is limited to what UCLA has on the portal. All LOCI or any other unsolicited material sent is not considered at all. Emails saying UCLA is your number 1 also doesn’t play a role. But thanks for keeping UCLA as your number 1. Go Bruins!
Just for clarification: no in state have heard back from the UCLA waitlist, correct?
@hello12334559302 I believe so. The wave of people that were just recently admitted seemed to be all out of state.
@10s4life Thanks for the input! Read post #70 tho: someone did say “why are you lying?” That’s what I was referencing. I also think LOCI is being used interchangeably with the “optional waitlist statement” UCLA accepts, per website. I think the two are the same thing but I imagine some view it differently.
You can send UCLA anything you want, but they won’t look at it if it’s not something they ask for. They tell people to not send in transcripts but people still send them in anyway, and I know many of them just end up getting shredded because they don’t want them at that point. I also know people send in letters of recommendation and those also are discarded. So maybe someone did submit a LOCI, but it can’t be considered part of their file because it wouldn’t be fair to those who paid attention to instructions and didn’t send one in.
@alicantekid True, but its better than sending nothing, cuz it at east shows the candidates effort. Just my opinion.
@hopewrld123 Seems to be so. Depends n why theyre doing this, but i think its mainly due to proportionally higher in state admits this year in comparison to WL offers. so they wanna fill INTL’s and OOS’s 1st, and then focus the remaining possible seats onto the in states. Just a theory and a possible explanation.
If anyone else can offer one, that’d be great.
@TheGuy1 I think you totally missed mine and @alicantekid ‘s point. Any info sent in not requested by the school has no bearing on the waitlist. It’s not a theory it’s a fact. Send all you want in but it won’t do anything other than use up the applicants time
@10s4life Got it … certainly u know better. Pardon my rude behavior.
I was just saying maybe it helps just show interest… or is just a way to let them know the candidate is doing st on their part… how useless it is or not is not my calling.
If anything, sending in stuff that they don’t ask for can be a negative. It makes it look like you don’t know how to follow instructions or you think that rules don’t apply to you.
@alicantekid Thats a possibility too… but I hope that, and doubt that they take that into account when re-evaling the apps off the WL
I’m an OOS applicant on the wait list and haven’t heard anything yet but I’ve received emails last night from UCSC and UC Merced about being offered admissions there due to not getting into any of the UC’s I applied to. Does that mean that I won’t get off the wait list for UCLA?
@samanthacave9: No, getting an offer to apply for UCSC and UCM does not mean you will not get off the waitlist for UCLA but it is based on not getting an acceptance at any of the UC’s. Since UCSC and UCM have spots available for OOS/International applicants, they are making an offer if you are interested.
First wave should be out this Friday. Good luck for everyone on the wait list!
@bigeagleflyhigh How do you know?
@Gumbymom will UCLA and the other UC’s advise applicants who opted into their waitlist when/if they waitlist has been closed - so they definitively know when there is no longer any chance to be admitted. Thanks!
@axapops: All UC campuses will notify the waitlisted applicants when all spots are filled and the waitlist is closed.
@sunflxwer8 In the past two years, the first wave was out on the first Friday of May.
