Is there hand soap provided in the hall restrooms? I remember there not being any soap in the plaza bathrooms during orientation D:

only hand soap lol. not shower soap…this isnt a prison.

its probably better to bring your own shampoo and soap… its dorms not a hotel :D

Just curious, does anyone know if the kitchen appliances in the university apartments are gas or electric?

I believe gas.

Is it better to buy books like rogawski’s single variable calculus and oxtoby’s principles of modern chamistry in hardcover? more expensive but lasts longer than paperback…

Does the majority of students use hardcover or paperback books? Which ones would be easier to sell?

Paperback is cheaper, so I would go with that…

As long as you don’t throw your book around, it should be fine; you’ll stop using it before it gets worn out

If you pledge and are given a bid as a first year this upcoming rush, at what point can you move into the fraternity house? Does the money paid towards dorms transfer over?

You actually can try to break your housing contract which is hard to do. You also have to be an active to move into (most) houses meaning you have to complete your pledge period (generally goes up to 11th week of fall quarter). Most move into their respective houses second year

I asked this a few pages back, but didn’t get an answer:

How do corequisites work? On the registrar’s website, it says the two courses must be taken together, but what if one class gets full? I want to finish my writing I winter quarter, but then I can only sign up for one more class. How can get I get a class in chem 20B and chem 20L if one of the happens to be full? Or there are enough spaces to ensure I’d get one by the second pass?

I even emailed my OC and she actually responded (lol) and she said some people purposefully take 20B and 20L separately. If that’s possible, what’s the point of the corequisite?

from my understanding that corequisite is more like you can take both classes in the same quarter, such as 20b and 20l, 20b is a corequisite for 20l but not vice versa… so you can take them together or 20l after 20b… because 20l uses some stuff taught in 20b (such as icebox) you need to either take it with or take 20b before you take 20l…

so to answer your question take the class that doesn’t have the corequisite such as take 20b instead of 20l if you need to choose one

can you purchase tickets to the UCLA/USC game even if you weren’t picked for it in the den lottery?

you can buy it off someone, which is the only way but it’ll cost a lot

Is 10920 Wilshire Blvd., Suite 107 {readmittance center} on campus? if so, where?

^ If it’s on Wilshire, I don’t think it’s part of the main campus. Try mapquest?

Thanks for the answers about the frat house situation. I think I would rather live in a house, but we’ll see what happens. Thanks guys

What’s a good class that satisfies the Writing II requirement and is a GE class for the college of L&S? I’m looking at Honors Collegium: 50W and Society and Genetics 102W. I’d rather kill two birds with one stone and take one class to fulfill both requirements.

I’m doing a GE cluster. Altogether it’ll take care of 3 GE requirements and the writing II requirement. Good bargain.

Actually I would suggest not taking the cluster and take individual GE classes. You can easily take care of the writing II and GE requirements without taking a cluster and it’ll take the same amount of time.

About move-in weekend, the dining website says students and their guests get free meals in the dining halls prior to the start of the meal plans on Sunday night. So if I bring my parents, they can eat in the dining hall for free, correct?

I had a similar question. If I will be in the university owned apartments, does that mean I can eat in the dining hall for free until sunday night?
