<p>Hey guys,
I just talked to a ucla counselor 5 minutes ago and she said that we cannot finish igetc OR prereqs during the summer before transfer. is that true? I thought only igetc had to be finished by spring</p>
<p>In theory you could complete pre-reqs the summer before transfer but depending on your major i assume she means your shot at getting in without taking pre-reqs are slim to none</p>
<p>the counsler is right. isted below are the lower division preparation courses for the major. THIS
“MAJOR IS HIGHLY SELECTIVE. ALL preparatory courses should be completed by the
spring term just prior to transfer. All courses must be taken for a letter
grade. The calculus course requirements should be met as early as possible.
After transfer to UCLA, students may not change their major to Economics if they
were originally admitted to a major outside the Department of Economics. For
more information regarding this major and UCLA’s transfer selection process,
visit [UCLA</a> Department of Economics](<a href=“http://www.econ.ucla.edu%5DUCLA”>http://www.econ.ucla.edu) and <a href=“http://www.admissions.ucla.edu.”>www.admissions.ucla.edu.</a>”
This is from assist.</p>
<p>Totally depends on your major. Obviously for a competitive major like economics, they thin the herd by demanding all applicants to finish all pre-req. However, if you major is non-impact, you can take certain pre-req after you transfer.</p>
<p>whats your major?</p>
