Ucla housing

so i've studied all the housing and know the differences between a hall, plaza, and suite. I'm deciding between a plaza where u share a bathroom with one other room (so 4 or 6 people share one) and a residence hall! I'm a fairly social person, so am scared that a plaza will not be social enough for me. However, I also would love to only share a bathroom with a few other girls and do like my privacy. So does anyone know if a plaza is social enough??

Really luck of the draw. Some floors in plazas are very social, approaching the social-ness of a hall. Some are semi-social, but many are completely dead, to the point where you might never meet your neighbors other than the ones you share a bathroom with.

I’ve rarely seen social plazas  Halls are much more social and I would highly recommend them to get a true freshman experience. Having shared bathrooms for the floor are not a big deal, they’re usually nicer than plaza bathrooms and you’ll never have to worry about coordinating shower times with your roommates.

this is the same problem that i have! i’m just worried that the other people who choose a plaza chose it for the reason to keep to themselves. If you think about the bathroom issue though, the plaza bathrooms are shared between 4-6 people and they’re only cleaned once a week. The res hall bathrooms, on the other hand, are cleaned twice a day(i believe) and i heard they’re usually free. I feel like freshman year is the time you should have the “college experience” of very communal living. It’ll force you to meet people! I’m definitely going for a plaza my second year though(if i don’t get an apartment).

All of the residence hall bathrooms are pretty nice now after all have been renovated.
