UCLA: only 58% graduate 'on-time!?'

I was looking @ the handout in my packet, and there is a little stat box that says only 58% of transfer graduate by their second summer, and only 86% by the third summer! ***mate?

“and 92% eventually graduate” lol

LOL eventually = 1 million years

Dub Tee Eff mate indeed!

I thought they want students to graduate ASAP?!

i guess that makes sense. most people dont even get out of CC in two years, what makes you think most people would get out of UCLA in two years

Hooray! 2 years here, 2 years there. I hope.

I planned my schedule at ucla for molecular biology. Gonna take me two years.

@whosthis

They want your money!!! They’d rather have you stay forever.

I don’t understand, Vu T Tran said he wanted me to succeed…

^
hahah yeah, well Vu T Tran wants UCLA to succeed (aka $!) more than he wants you to succeed.

I think they want you out as quick as possible. once your gone it frees up a spot for a new student

@Eshug1
yea right?! new student=more money!

^
or they could reject that new student and stay “competitive” because of it.

hey that’s true too. I mean, it’s not like they can kick you out for taking more time to graduate right?

i think they dont get as much state funding if you are there longer than a certain amount / and if you are not full time

my main point was that essentially 3 out of every 20 transfers take 4 years (or more) AFTER transfer to graduate.

wonder if it’s skewed and if so by how much by people taking classes the summer before the fall quarter for which they were really admitted to…

I loved seeing that!!! Gave me hope :smiley: I wanna double major, but I also wanna enjoy myself, so I want to go for 3 years!!! :D

3 years at CC, 3 years at UCLA, even stevens :D

Maybe because transfers are often untraditional schools, there are many part time students that petition to take only 3-8 units a semester, delaying their graduation.
