UCLA or NYU to study art?

Hello,

I am having a hard time deciding between the UCLA Art Department-Visual Art and NYU Steinhardt Department-Studio Art. My first choice was (and still is) RISD, but my parents say it's just impossible for me to go there because that school is offering me no financial aid. :(

-Campus/area-wise, I prefer NYU..It just seems like I would have more inspirations and internship opportunities.
-NYU is offering me only about $28,000 for freshman year, which is quite a small amount in the large scope of things and I don't even know what they can offer me for sophomore year and beyond.
-I basically want to go to NYU, but I don't know if studying art there would better prepare me for an art-related career than I would if I go to UCLA..Is NYU worth it? (I haven't heard much about NYU's Studio Art Program..)
-I am quite interested in pursuing a masters degree as well, which makes UCLA a better choice?
-The only reason I would really want to go UCLA is because I would be going there for free (almost), which allows me to possibly participate in study abroad programs or traveling.

Thanks....

If this were Tisch it would be NYU hands down. I don't know much about Steinhardt's art program, haven't heard anything about it. So I guess it's a toss up of money, desire etc

Are you kidding me? Do you know how extremely competitive it is to get into UCLA's art school?

It's probably harder to get into UCLA art than it is to get into RISD. UCLA is the best and better choice. Almost free education, Beyond EXCELLENT ART DEPARTMENT. If you would post in the arts major, you'd hear the same thing

Is it really?
I've been researching the courses that both schools offer, and I found that NYU offers many more, so I've been hesitant about UCLA..ahh, but if it's harder to get into, may be I should consider it more..

this is so hard..

go under college majors, and post on the art section. ask trust me ucla art is big.
