I beleive I posted my question in the wrong area so I am posting it again.

Background: I received admission to UCI w/ a Regents Scholarship with Campuswide honors acceptance. I did TAP with UCLA so I beleive I have a strong chance there. I live 15 mins away from UCI and about an hour with no traffic from UCLA.

Question:

For a political science major would you...

Go to UCI with the Regents Scholarship and live at home (It's only 2 more years anyway)

OR

Go to UCLA, live in dorms or off campus, no scholarship.

*Money IS an issue; however, I have no problem with taking out loans.

**I plan on going to graduate school.

Thank you for your advice/opinions/thoughts!

UCLA is definitely a better school for political science.
However, if money is an issue UCI is a good reliable school. Considering you also have Regents and Honors Status for UCI that makes it even more of an attractive choice. I thought Regents Scholars got some sort of scholarship as well? Hmm...
As for Grad School...while UCLA has a lot of clout and name recognition, as far as from what I've heard and been told as long as you have a good GPA, good test scores, and are a well rounded student then the school you got to doesn't really matter (esp. with the UC's...most grad programs are aware that the UCs are very good academic institutions).
Anyways....I personally would choose UCLA....but in the end...it's what will make you happy. So check out both schools and make a decision on where you feel you will succed. Good luck!

The state is so broke, the regents scholarships have gone down dramatically on some campuses. Can someone tell me how much uci offered for the regents starting with 2009-10?
