Schedule of Classes will be posted on June 7th.

203! July 16th. Pumped!

Is this the kind of orientation that everyone brings their parents to? I don’t see anything about guests…

^It is for students only. There is a seperate one for parents if they really want to go.

sesh 204. i hate organized meet and greet crap like this
and if that session schedule thing is right then i’m definitely not coming until 8:30 am instead of 7:30

Woah. MrOblivious, you were looking at the 2007 orientation site.

I’m aware of that, but I found it more organized and informative than [UCLA Summer Orientation Program](http://www.ugeducation.ucla.edu/orientation/trsessionschedule.htm) which doesn’t include and exact timetable and just vaguely says:

“Check in begins at 7:30 am… The session concludes with enrolling in your Fall Quarter classes. Check-out is at 9:00 pm. Please make all travel plans after this time.”

Either way, I don’t think the Orientation itself has changed that much. Hopefully someone who’s actually gone can shed some light on this.

I’m sure it has somewhat. I wouldn’t fully rely on a 3 year old orientation schedule. Plus, on the new site, it sounds as if they are trying to lessen the load and get everyone to reach the whole applying for Fall courses goal as efficient as possible. Whereas the 2007 schedule looked like a scary mess and it sounds like that wasn’t even the full schedule in the first place.

Just call the Orientation office and let them know what’s up! If tell you that you have to stay here for that long (which I still doubt–unless you guys start super super late with it all), then I guess you’ll have to get a hotel? :/

MrOblivious - The schedule seems about right (I’m saying this after reading last year’s experiences). I’m definitely not going there for the early morning presentations.

I know! 7:30a.m.! I am thinking the Tsp students will probably have to follow that schedule and can’t be showing up at 11a.m.! there goes my plan!

anyone else in sesh 204? for those of you doing early arrival does it say 7/15/2010? mine says that but the actual orientation date is 7/19. are we supposed to stay there 4 nights?!

My friend also got that. He was really ticked off by the whole orientation deal. I’m pretty sure it’s just a glitch and they mixed up the Early arrival for 203. If not, $50 for 4 nights is a pretty sweet deal.

lol the thing is im worried it’s gonna end up being a lot more. and the $50 includes lodging? i didnt know that.

"EARLY ARRIVAL - CONNECT TO OTHER NEW UCLA STUDENTS
The evening before every session there will be social activities to provide you with an opportunity to meet other incoming first-year students. If you are traveling from outside the Los Angeles area and want to arrive the night before the session formally begins, and/or you want an opportunity to meet and get to know some of your fellow Bruins, join us the night before your session. There is a small fee for lodging; no meals are included. "

I would totally not pay $50 just to socialize. No offense to anybody.

I also like how it says: "Your session fee includes all meals and programming for the one-day session. Please see http://www.orientation.ucla.edu/hotels.doc if you need to add one night to your stay. "

The session ends at 9 PM, when most Southwest flights and the inexpensive buses stop running at 8/9. And the lowest price is $124+tax. Way to not leave me up the creek without a paddle, UCLA. Bitter

haha yea i read all of that, which just left me more confused than before. i’ll probably just call them and ask.
