i got in without sending supplemental -_-

same here..

I have 3.96 GPA and 2210 SAT scores and I got it..

Yeah I got that too, and I thought I was rejected almost, and so they wanted to give me "one las chance" but then I have connections with a former UCLA Admissions officers, and she told me that "no that's a reallllly good thing that you got it, that means they took a long time looking at your application and they didn't set it aside, and they just want that extra push before making their final decision."

omg how freakin scary, those are my same exact grades too!! woah.. and yeah i got the ucla supp info too. as far as i know from a former admissions officer, thats a reallly good thing

So would it be better to talk about what you wrote about on your essay personal statement when they are asking for a specific talent you have? I'm worried that choosing to talk about my mediocre running might push me away from acceptance.

is that bad or good?

STATS
UC gpa- 4.0
SAT-1880
ACT-30
SAT 2- 770, 660

from underserved high school, urm, first generation college student, financial issues

I haven't gotten one... :(

how can i get one?

they send you it... only a select few get them.
and your urm status does nothing for UCs, and the financial issues are probably not a good thing in California, in this economy.

I got one, and I'm an average stat student on GPA
(3.8 GPA) Kinda bad SAT (1590) and sorta ACT (26, with Science score on 29)
but excelled at (Three AP tests with 3+scores, SAT II 770, 590)
I do have tons of awards, ECs and I am a highlight in community service
(over 500 hours in Rural-medicine)
(over 500 hours in Hospital volunteer)
(and around 300+ hours in tutoring, canned food drives, etc.)

I am a Mexican-Immigrant and I wrote pretty good Admissions essays

I received both supplemental questionnaires from UCB and UCLA

My main thing is that I graduated in 08, I didn't go to college, I went to volunteer in rural-medicine in Mexico.

I believe I got the questionnaire because of my medical experience.

yeah i dont have the best scores, but i got this too and most websites say that they are only going to take 8% of the people
well for those of you scared i had:
gpa uc:3.9
sat:1600....
for the grades part i had
ap english A
ap cal A
h physics A
h Gov A
aca deca A
psychology at a college A
what do you guys think... because i wasnt scared, but today the college lady said that its a good thing, and now im scared and kind of happy but scared, now i cant wait for 5 more weeks =[

Use logic

Why would UCLA admission officer send you a supplemental Questionnaire?

There's a variety of logic reasons.
Like:
-They want to place you in, but require more information so they're 100% sure.
-They want to cut down students for a competitive program
-You put in a hell of an essay and they want to know more about what you wrote in it.
-They want to know how diverse you are
-They want to know how you would contribute to UCLA
-They want to know if you have leadership.
-If you put hardships they want to know how you overcome them, that shows a lot about your attitude.

I say it's a good thing, they wouldn't be sending us these type of questionnaires to waste theirs (and our) time.

Hmm, I haven't gotten one. Which could be a good and bad thing. But my friend got one and she's extremely excited. Nice to have a confirmation that you're rejected.

A confirmation that you're accepted would be better, but it's good to know that you're getting another chance to mold your future.

Unfortunately I'm just sitting and waiting for a month. (but it's really not that bad)

lemonlimerush:

What are your friend's stats?

If my UC GPA is 3.84 (a bit on the low side), but my SAT is 2240, and I wasn't asked to submit supplemental information, does this mean I'm rejected? Do they consider your regular weighted and 9th grade courses? =/ I had a slump 10th grade year.

Hate to throw in my grades and such too, but I didn't get the supplement:
SAT: 2140, 2160 superscored
SAT II: 740 lit, 730 math II (reported but obviously not top two: Latin twice 700, Bio-M 680 -__-)
GPA: 10-11 weighted 4.1, uw 3.5 :/
Pretty solid EC's though, ASB and Class Council, senior class vp, academic decathlon, JCL for four years including officer positions, volleyball, relay for life captain, etc.

You kids with 2,000+ SAT scores shouldn't be worried

come on kids, u guys not getting a supplemental probably means you are in.

I wouldnt say that
I know kids who got over 2000 and got rejected but kids with 1500 got in

Well, number-wise they are pretty well set. ESPECIALLY with High GPA (look at UC stat finder numbers)

However, the lower the SAT, the more competitive it gets.
