UCLA Supplemental Information

transpublic- Perhaps they just wanted to verify, or receive more information on what you mentioned. I wouldn't worry too much about it :)

hey guys, so i wanted to ask something. i also received one of these letters and from what i read here, it seems that i must be borderline then...! anyway, i'm going to be annoying and ask what you guys think my chances are:

UC GPA: 4.33 (7th Semester)
Courses: 3 IB HL, 2 AP, 1 Regular Class
Supplemental Essay: Talking about all my ECs that got me into Int'l Relations (MUN, IR Program at Georgetown, Internship at US Embassy, French (I'm in French 6 IB HL))

i was wondering, i would REALLY like to send in my resume as a supplement, do you think i can? it will really make a HUGE difference...but i know the UCs don't like getting crap they don't ask for....

oh one last thing, i knew i forgot something:

ACT: 29
SAT II: French (700)

i know, i ****ed up and did the wrong math test...now it's too late. so i only have one SAT II!

So I received one of those emails from UCLA stating that they wanted more information and all that jazz. I filled out the application (2 essays) but it also included a request for senior year grades (first semester) and second semester classes. I know my essays were good, but will my grades jeopardize my chance at admission?

ap calc-c
ap lit-c
ap comp sci ab-b
ap gob-a
ap physics-c

thats 3 c's one b and one a.

If they are interested in me, and I wrote very compelling essays, will my grades be a big enough factor to deny admission?

It's a little iffy, your grades aren't great, but it is a pretty demanding schedule.

oh thats ap government* not ap gob haha

Since when was that a surprise? Go bask in your oils and feed a poor college student!

I heard that ucla wont admit me because i have more than 2 c's senior year... is that true anyone heard of that?

No. Just don't get 2 C's, slacker. UCLA isn't for wimps like you. CA isn't paying taxes to finance your POS grades.

well in case you missed my earlier post.. tell me what you think of this

Trust me, mme-lin does not miss a post.

hahaha all right. well i wish he'd comment on what i wrote because its killing me. i cant stop thinking about how my 3 c's will affect my admission. he said dont get more than 2 but i already did so i dunno.

Isn't that a 2.6 UW GPA anyways? UCLA and Cal supposedly rescind admission if you have lower than a 3.00 UW GPA during Senior year. If you sent that in as part of a supplement, it's probably not going to look too good unless you explained the reason for not having such good grades in your essays.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!

what should I do? I explained why I would get lower grades but that was throughout high school not particuarly senior year. I got a job in october, so maybe I could use that as a reason my grades were lower? but would they look bad upon me for not being able to manage a job and school? How could I let them know that the reason for my lower grades was my job? mabye in an appeal letter if i dont get in?

I didn't get one... am I out of the running?

UC GPA: 4.0
ACT: 33
SAT IIs: Chinese - 800, Math II - 780, Chemistry - 740
Low income, single parent, goes to above average public school
No particular leadership ECs...
6 APs total (5/4/4, other 3 this year)
Applied for Computer Science and Engineering

If they reject me without giving me the supplemental questionnaire, I'm going to be ****ed... considering what I got this semester...
AP Physics - A
Choir - A+
AP US Government -A
English 4- A
AP Calculus AB - A
(yes, I managed to fend of senioritis...)

Any takes? I did get UCI Regents for the same major...

xxfly4lyfxx - e-mail them your situation first. You may be able to avoid getting rescinded by retaking a class over the summer or at a CC, but I'm not too sure. Don't give up yet though.

ok ill think about emailing my school ucla representative. ill think about what to say and probably post around this forum. but what could i possibly tell them

shortduderay-you should get in with your statistics, it looks like ur a match for ucla with ur SAT scores and ACT scores. hopefully ur gpa will be made up from the AP classes you took

so anyone get in/out by sending/not sending in the supplemental?

i got in by sending in a supplemental

i got in by sending in a supplemental as well
