UCLA Transfer Appeals 2019

Same here, still under review… anyone try calling them?

I checked today and got the rejection. I am taking summer classes in SB already. Thx for all of you who posted in this page and wish you guys the best luck for ur life.

@xxxxxmxla I’m so sorry  I wish you all the luck at your new school. Santa Barbara is a great place and has a beautiful campus. I actually wanted to go there but they dropped the Psychology major back in 2017. Take care! xoxo

@twelveseveneight That’s very strange. I have a ton of W’s, when you count the entirety of my long CC career, off and on, but then I got much better over time. In fact, I had two recent withdrawals in Fall 2018, one of which was a major prep. I think that’s what cost me an initial admission offer (I was waitlisted at first). I made it up in Spring 2019, though. After two month of waiting, I finally got admitted. It may depend on your individual circumstances, such as having less than 60 transferable units, though it seems like you took care of it.
Here are my stats:
Waitlisted to UCLA, admitted 6/27/19
Human Biology & Society, B.S.
GPA: 3.62
TAP certified, but didn’t get into alternate major. IGETC finished.
Accepted at: UC Berkeley, UC Irvine, UC San Diego
Rejected: None
I had very tough circumstances, such as taking buses everyday for hours, having health problems, etc. Plus I took too many classes in some semesters. I explained a bit more in my waitlist statement (kind of like an appeal form for waitlisted students). I also did some EC’s, but no work experience was listed.

I keep seeing a gazillion people on here saying that they called admissions to see why they weren’t admitted. I live in the Los Angeles area, attended community colleges, and was a CCCP Scholar for 3 years in a row. (Look it up if you’re curious about CCCP.) I’ve attended Saturday Academies at UCLA and watched presentations about applying, PIQ’s, financing college, etc. I was on the waitlist for just over two months before finally being admitted. The one thing I have to say is, YOU GUYS ARE DOING IT ALL WRONG!!!
This is what we were all taught, straight from an admissions officer: Look up your admissions counselor here: http://www.admission.ucla.edu/meet-your-counselor.htm and click on your location or CA community college name to find whoever is assigned to you. This only lists their emails, but you can get their numbers by searching for their name here: http://www.directory.ucla.edu/
We were told to never, ever call the general admissions office number to ask why we weren’t admitted, otherwise we’d get very unhelpful answers, like saying that so many people applied, etc etc. Furthermore, I found my admissions officer to be much more helpful when I called her to ask waitlist related questions, as opposed to the general number where you get put on hold and the person handling the call seems exasperated and rude because they got so many calls from students asking about the same things.

@nani9768 Thank you so much for the information! I’ve also been a CCCP Scholar for 3 years! Congratulations on getting off the waitlist btw! What CCCP program were you in if I mind asking?

Anyone know if they are going to release more appeals???

@Pbunny Pretty sure they will but idk when. Mine is still under review. They might release more next week maybe?

I’m wondering if it’s based on the time and date we submitted our appeal. I submitted mine on the 15th after 8. Although I got extremely lucky mine got in after I called admissions to see if they accepted it after the 5 pm deadline

Who else’s application is still under review here?

@HarleyTheQuinn I was in STEM SITE in summer 2018 and then SITE LITE in both summers before that. How about you, what summer programs were you in? And what major did you apply to UCLA with and your back-up schools?

@VeeJoePerra My application is still under review.

mine is still under review as well

Guys,
I called admissions just now. They’re currently reviewing appeals but they have no specific date of when the next wave of appeals will be. The rep said they’ll be releasing them on a rolling basis throughout this month. Fingers crossed!

@HarleyTheQuinn omg im so nervous. i wish they good give like something saying within the next week or so?

@pbbunny97 I hope it’s next week. At this point, it feels like a frustrating waiting game

@HarleyTheQuinn I hope this means it’s good news! How do you think they organize the appeals, by major, by last name, random? I’m honestly curious

Still waiting on my appeal. Not sure what this means but they haven’t updated my decision. I’m a veteran and was basically incapacitated for a year. I should have stepped away from school altogether and regrouped. Just a little order so i’m trying to get stuff done swiftly.

Guys I’m getting a but agitated because I committed to UC Berkeley and I need to arrange housing and classes and I can’t commit to signing anything until I know about the appeals from UCLA. Has anyone tried called them to see what the news might be

@pbbunny97 I called them today but they gave me the same response as @HarleyTheQuinn. They’re gonna do it on a rolling basis  I’m committed to Berekely too but ughhh this is taking so long!!!
