@jindaltanya Waitlisted students aren’t ranked. UCLA will (holistically) review you again, but only against the other waitlisted students this time.
Oh alright
Last year they started rolling out on 2nd May
I hope it’s early this time
We have quite a chance to get in this year considering oos students don’t get any aid.
@jindaltanya Are you oos?
@jindaltanya not yet ahhhhh I’m down to two schools hbu?
That’s great news! Last year, they didn’t accept a single engineer off the waitlist. If what you said is true, then we should have a higher chance to get accepted in addition to OOS students having no financial aid.
I hate to be that guy, but just because they said that doesnt mean its true. On last years thread a lady called and they told her that nobody from engineering would be taken off the waitlist and that the school is full
@godzilla24 it may be possible that they changed their policy this year. It seems that many things are changing this time around
anyone off the waitlist yet?
Nope, too early for that. They might start in 6 days (historically speaking) though…could be anytime!
@mikuru no i’m in state
@effyeahjen I sir’d for UCD. Which schools are you deciding between?
UCLA admitted more in state students right? So does that mean chances for an in state student are lower? Also, I’m not sure if the OOS not getting aid thing will mean that their yield will be a lot lower.
@jindaltanya UCSD and USC actually lol. UCD was also up there on my list but I eliminated it since it was pretty far from home compared to UCSD and USC
No they didn’t admit more in state.
@jindaltanya there was a whole article on how UCs are admitting more in state students starting this year.
I know
But there was news something about audits saying that UCs are admitting oos who don’t even have all that much great grades and profiles compared to in state. So they are going to put a cap on oos student enrollment. It was something like this.
Regardless, I would take all of those articles with a grain of salt.
Admissions site is down right now, maybe first decisions?
Hopefully
Same thing happened when the decisions released last month
Guys just remember that whatever happens, happens. UCLA would be nice for all of us, but it isnt life! My sister and her best friend were both super bummed when they didnt get in, but now, you couldnt get them to leave where there at(UCSB and UCD) so just remember that guys!
do people who get notified earlier on have a higher chance of getting in or is that just another rumor ive heard ahhaha
