Sigh there arent many more waves left… Kind of losing hope :(

Same…well lets not lose hope just yet!

Keep calm, and carry on! If you don’t mind me asking dartwell, where have your SIRed to already?

I got today as well! Got the email at 7 30 am and checked my decision during my 1st period class.

1950 SAT
4.2 something weighted GPA
4.0 Unweighted

In the optional info part I just put my 1st semester grades, I didn’t put an essay or anything.

Letters and Science- English Major

I already SIR’d to Berkeley though…I’m not sure how to take it back. Can someone help me out there?

I have SIR’d to UCSB where I have a Regents Scholarship. What about you, 81Mamba? AlbyDuckett-I’m sure if you can’t find the answer by some google searches, you could always call Berkley’s office of admission for help

Dartwell, i SIRed to UCSD!

UCLA would send out notices if we weren’t accepted off the wait list right? I don’t want to keep waiting if they had already stopped sending out acceptances x)

I’m inclined to say that they would. Based on the fact that on the decision letter it still says “not all decisions have been made,” I’m pretty sure they’ll tell us if and when we are rejected. Also, I called their admissions a week or so ago and they said that while the only guarantee is by the end of May, they hope to finish all the waitlist decisions “within the first two weeks in may”

I inferred that they’d email us no matter what the decision is. So, for now, assume no news is good news.

Reading past forums, UCLA started rejecting people around May 12th, so our time is almost up They did however continue to accept people after that date so i agree with no news may be good news.

The problem is that with rolling admissions you’d think that the admissions office would send out offers that were exactly the number that need to be filled. And then the next subsequent waitlist offers would be filling in for those that did not accept in the first cycle. I could be wrong, but that would mean that each time they are sending less and less acceptances… meaning that as time goes on, the less likely we are to get in. :(

I have some disheartening news for some of us.
I called the office of admissions because I was wondering why I’m still on the waitlist. Not that I don’t think everyone on the waitlist are great candidates to be Bruins, its just that naturally, I think I deserve to be one.
Well I sent them a link to my art blog because I didn’t apply as an art major, so they never saw my portfolio. Since UCLA is big on their holistic application review process, I thought that since I’m a volunteer, track runner, strong student, and an artist that that would convince them that as a whole, I am very well rounded and suited to be a Bruin.

The admissions office representative said she wouldn’t even look at my blog because it doesn’t matter. All she wanted to see were my senior year grades.

I cannot believe this! Is this accurate, or do you think there was a miscommunication, or that it was just some student answering phone calls who wasn’t well informed?

OH and btw, they said the whole waitlist will be done by next week. So get ready everyone.

I’m sorry to hear that! I think it wasn’t a miscommunication because they did say they would not consider extra information like an appeal. On a side note, did they mean first semester senior year grades?

You know 81Mamba, I’m not quite sure if it was 1st semester or also 3rd quarter grades since the waitlist came out when most people were finishing/had finished their third quarter. For what it’s worth, I included first semester and third quarter grades.

a 3.8 unweighted GPA with 3 AP’s and 1 honors isn’t bad for senior year, right?

Does anyone know anybody that heard anything yesterday or today?

Fncrane, yesterday people got an email in the morning, so the next wave should be saturday (unless they dont email on weekends)

Oh my goodness… if they don’t look at anything else besides senior grades, then I am super boned. Got two B’s and I only took 3 AP classes; I slacked off because I didn’t think they mattered! Guess that’s a good lesson to learn though.

This is getting insane. I’m giving up.

webmaster02, where did you get that UCLA is holistic in their approach? There is so much misinformation out there…

@blueskies2day idk, I’ve came across it a few times. But, I didn’t read the FAQ stuff thoroughly enough to catch the “No additional documentation, including recommendation letters, will be reviewed” tid-bit.

Caught me on the fine-print. Oh well.

Oh also, the rep. said that they are still taking out-of-state and in-state waitlisters, but no more international applicants. So I guess for us Americans, keep your fingers crossed and praying hard.

Good luck to you guys - keep your heads up.
