@RJA Most schools seem to do an e-mail blast when releasing decisions on the portal. I would expect UCONN to do the same.
@jdcollegedad unfortunately uconn doesnt notify students when the decisions are posted, leading most people to find out by checking themselves or through word of mouth when it comes out
I got a letter in the mail saying i was admitted then like a week later i got an email saying my portal was updated
I’ll check here ?
@teddy10143 the opposite happened to me. i wasn’t alerted of my admission status and had to check myself, and then got the letter a week later. were you instate or oos?
I’m oos (ohio)
Did everyone receive an email saying that they’ve received your application? I didn’t receive one but I double checked and it says that I did submit it successfully on common app.
@teddy10143 ok that makes sense. im instate so i found out by online portal first. uconn mightve sent letters to kids living farther away so they get their online decision and letter around the same timespan.
@St678557 - You should have received a couple of emails from UConn after submitting your application through the Common App. The first on my daughter received was 2 days after submitting the application and the subject line was “Activate your UConn NetID.” The second email came 2 days after the first and the subject line was “We have received you Application to UConn.”
You are going to need to setup your NetID in order to review your decision on their Student Administration portal.
Avg SAT for honors for class of 2022 was 1460 per admissions rep.
My son got his acceptance last year 2/28 for Engineering. It was about a week or so later via mail that he got info on his invite to STEM honors and the associated scholarship info.
He is at UCONN and there are so many opportunities to explore interests.
I’m a junior at UConn and heard back on exactly March 1st when I was applying
Change in UConn portal today stating that “This application is Complete. As we work toward finalizing our admissions decisions, self-service is currently unavailable. Please continue to check this page in the upcoming days for the latest information on the status of your application.” That seems like a good sign that decisions are on the way. Anyone know if a similar portal change happened in the past and how long before decisions came out?
Plus a new link under financial aid for “New Admit Scholarship Acceptance.” Award not listed yet, but lays out terms and provides a check box to accept the terms.
I don’t see the portal change. Is there anyone else who doesn’t have it yet?
Some additional information: My D is OOS, nursing program applicant, applied in mid October.
@jdcollegedad we have same portal change but no scholarships link…do you mind sharing your Ds stats? Was she in top 10% of class?
My son had the scholarship link last year but we did not hear about scholarship until after he was accepted. I think it is a good sign for admittance, imo.
Ours still shows:
It’s still very early, and probably a good thing not to over-monitor the page since it’s not going to change the decision in the long run.
I would think they could be doing different colleges/majors or IS/OOS at different times. I’m also not sure if our portal is a little different due to the fact that we’ve technically already been enrolled at UCONN for a few years due to the ECE (early college experience) classes that are through our school that we had to create an account for.
I would expect we will not see decisions for another week or so.
D’s school doesn’t rank, but she is in top 10% based on the information in her high school’s profile. 1430 SAT. 9 APs and rest honors.
@jdcollegedad and as you mentioned, OOS, which I would presume would help in the chances of merit department.
