UCR Psychology Transfer Chances??

Hey guys,

First of all, I am in junior standing (60 units) and my current stats are:

cGPA: 3.0
No TAG
IGETC all sections complete except for foreign language.

I was looking at the UCR transfer requirements for a BA in Psych and they are as follows:

I put an [X] on the requirements I completed.

Checklist: Psychology, B.A.

Admission is selective. In addition to UC minimum transfer requirements, applicants must attain a minimum GPA of 2.7 in all transferable coursework. This is a baseline GPA for review and not a guarantee of admission.

Recommended courses

Take as many major-preparation courses as possible. Completing these before transfer makes you a more competitive applicant—and will help you graduate on time.

You must take the following courses for a letter grade of C- or better before you can advance to upper-division coursework at UC Riverside.

-General psychology (1 course) [X]
-Research methods for psychology majors (1 course)
-Precalculus, business calculus, or general calculus (1 course) [X]
-Statistics for psychology majors (1 course) X
-Biological sciences (1 course) [X]
-Physical sciences (1 course) [X]
-Two additional courses from: biological science, physical science, computer science, statistics, or mathematics [X]

I also want to add that I'm currently attending Riverside Community College, in California.

So basically, I'm wondering if I have a pretty good chance for the Fall 2014. If not, what can I change before then?

Thank you very much.

anyone? Please help. Thanks!

You only need a 3.0 to TAG at UCR and guarantee yourself admission. If you’ve already completed 60 units ad all major prerequisite, take a bunch of easy classes to boost your GPA. Try to get to at least a 3.2 just be safe.

Thanks for your response!

I do not have a TAG contract, however. Are my stats good enough to get in without TAG?

The TAG application will open this September for Fall 2014. It a few months, you can get a TAG contract.
