S18 and I went to the chancellors reception today. For those that asked, the head of admissions did confirm everyone in attendance was admitted and formal admissions would be out for everyone on the 20th. Good luck everyone!
Should I get into UCSB if I got:
Accepted - UCD UCSD UCSC
Denied - UCLA
Just got back from the chancellor reception, and what we heard was pretty impressive. For some people this might be old news, but they had a total of 92,000 applicants this year, and this class was the highest performing class ever. 42% had over 4.0 GPA, and along with transfer applicants, ucsb is the 4th largest in the nation in the number of applicants.
We probably won’t end up at ucsb, but i think it’s great that they’re making investments on recruiting people. I bet this is why the school keeps growing.
@swampoton You should get in for sure.
@schlgurl Your scores are above the average so you should have a good chance. UCSB evaluates you 50% for GPA, tests scores, a-g courses and 50% for essay, ec, volunteer experiences. http://admissions.sa.ucsb.edu/applying/freshman/selection

I was really honored and surprised when the beautiful white invitation card came in the mail. The event was in the penthouse of a beautiful hotel near Central Park. All the students at the event were accepted. I must admit I knew beforehand however it was still a really special moment.
