@teachmama2, that’s the link we clicked on. Once we got into the financial aid page, It shows “Prospective Student” with Financial Aid info. But below that, there’s a red exclamation mark and a statement that says “No financial aid information available at this time.” Did you have to log into another page too, or was it suppose to show up there on the Financial aid page?
@DDclass2018 It says, “Prospective Student”, “Financial Aid Application Status”, then a green checkmark, then click on “View Unofficial Award Letter”.
Here is our breakdown:
Unofficial Grants and Scholarships: $4,584 total
Breakdown: $1,109 UCSB Scholarship, $3,357 UCSB Health Ins Grant, $118.00 Estimated Middle Class Scholarship
Our Unofficial Net Cost after “Unofficial Grants and Scholarships” = $32,262 (not including $5,500 Subsidized and Unsubsidized Direct Loans, Parent Plus, etc.)
@teachmama2, thanks for showing me yours. For my daughters, it’s not a green checkmark. It’s a red exclamation mark. I take UCSB doesn’t have my daughter’s financial aid estimate set up yet. At least now, we know the difference and what to look for.
Does UCSB send a welcome package by snail mail? If so, has anyone received it?
@DDclass2018 im having the exact same problem too. im going to contact the financial aid office tomorrow
@michelledont, Please update us here after you find out info on yours. I think it’d help a lot more students than my daughter.
Can someone tell me how to receive net id? I went to find my financial aid award and the tab said I needed to log in with my netid and password but I do not remember getting one or signing up for one.
@isabellagoeswest search your email for your UCSB application confirmation. The info is in he initial email.
UCSB’s Insight Day was a blast …
My daughter and I are planning on going to the one on 4/14. She was waitlisted, but hoping they accept her appeal.
@texcalmom rooting for you - enjoy the visit! We can’t go that date but will try to visit on our own the last weekend of April.
@texcalmom I might be mistaken but if you are waitlisted you can’t appeal because you weren’t denied. A waitlist means the student is eligible for admission they just don’t have space. At least for UCLA, the appeal is for denials not waitlists.
On another note, my sister is waitlisted for UCSB but just got an email with a financial aid offer. Is this sent to all waitlisted applicants so they are prepped if they get off the waitlist or is this a sign she will be admitted off the waitlist?
@10s4life hopefully it is a sign By the way my older kid is at UCLA for EE and younger girl probably going to UCSB. Go Bruins - Go Gauchos! And thanks for all the helpful posting on the boards this season!
@10s4life UCSB gives you the option to appeal but it doesn’t impact you waitlist status. Should only submit if there is new information. She wasn’t diagnosed with dyslexia until after submitting application, and this impacted her test scores.
Last year’s waitlist thread stated they all received financial aid offer. Does not mean anything, but to help you make your decision and know what to expect
@meb1meb1 Of course! And congrats to your kids.
@texcalmom Thanks for the info.
@meb1meb1 I also have a Gaucho and a Bruin. Both excellent schools! Each of my kids loves their school.
@youcee I am happy with the outcome and grateful the kids are happy - And now that I know where everything is at UCLA and Westwood I can have an excuse to explore Santa Barbara area It has been quite a ride this month and very glad to move to the next phase.
@10s4life sending happy Gaucho waitlist release wishes to your sister The waitlists are really crazy this year.
Has anyone received an EOP email?
does anyone know how many people applied and how many were accepted this year?
