UCSB Official Financial Aid Thread

^Yep. I think you should have gotten an e-mail about that. I did at least:

“We reviewed your 2009-2010 FAFSA and determined that we need additional information. To access your file and view what is required, please visit our website at [UCSB Financial Aid](http://www.finaid.ucsb.edu) and click on “My Aid Status” at the top right-hand corner of our home page. In the “Academic Year” option, be sure you select “2009-2010”. You will need your UCSBnetID and Password in order to access your file.”

But, then again, I was selected by the FAFSA people for “verification.” Just check to see if you got that e-mail.

^ I got that too, they are prob. doing that to everyone who needs financial aid to make sure they are giving it to the right people.

Any one know when we hear about aid for FSSP and/or if we need to send in documentation for that (tax returns, etc)?

I am so glad that i read this because i never received any email about financial aid. You guys have saved me! Thanx!

hey peeps, when should our Final Fafsa be submitted by?

asap. although the university will reserve some money for extraordinary circumstances, most of the scholarship money will be handed out if you wait. at least that is what i think it is. but i dont see why you would want to wait. the tax deadline has passed so you should have your final tax return done and editing your fafsa is easy. if anyone has better information, feel free to correct me.

I’m submitting my final fafsa today so I bet I am fine.

I shall post my ? again.

Any one know when we hear about aid for FSSP and/or if we need to send in documentation for that (tax returns, etc)?

It says all IRS forms are to be sent here:

“Financial Aid Office
University of California, Santa Barbara
Santa Barbara, CA 93106-3180”

That address doesn’t seem complete, though…?

why doesnt it sound complete?
it has a designation of who to deliver it to: financial aid office
it has an address: University of california santa barbara
and it has a city, state, and zipcode: Santa Barbara, CA 93106-3180

and even if it’s incorrect, i think 93106/7 is a zip code only for ucsb.

Where’s the street and street number?

there isnt one

So, the UCSB financial aid web site has a calculator to estimate financial aid. How accurate was the estimate in your case?

[UCSB Financial Aid](Estimate your aid | UC Admissions)

Wow, so after updating my FAFSA my EFC jumped from 0 to about 4100 :frowning: Hopefully this doesn’t dramatically impact my aid. I had about 19k in grants and scholarships before, so 15k would still be decent I guess. I don’t know if it works that way though…

Anyone know if we need to report Cal Grants to UCSB?

You do not have to report your Cal Grant to UCSB. They are notified directly and will receive the funding directly.

^ thank you!

For next year, I listed on my FAFSA that I will be living in the University Resident Hall. But the budget listed on my Financial Aid Award page says that the budget was $25090 which does not reflect the >$27000 budget that I am suppose to have. Did anyone else experience this? :(

I got a question.

On my financial aid award, it says “possible Cal Grant Ellig.” and it is currently “not confirmed”

but when i go to the cal grant website, it says that i have been awarded Cal Grant A with the same amount that is stated on my financial aid award letter.

When does this Cal Grant award turn official?

im so worried that they might eliminate cal grants. freaking california
