UCSB TAG Agreement 2021

Hey, I am attending community college next year to help save on college costs, I want to transfer with a TAG to Data Science at UCSB. I have completed 9 units at my CCC through HS dual enrollment (an Art class and Precalculus + Trig), with the AP/IB tests that I took this year and throughout HS I will have another 21 units. So I will have 30 units before my fall semester. (Do I need to send my AP scores to my CCC and then to UCSB for the TAG agreement app in September?) I am planning on taking english composition (3 units), biology (5 units), calc a (5 units), and humanities (3 units) course this fall to help complete my IGETC. Then one more physical science class in the spring to finish my IGETC with some major prep courses also (most likely 14 units). Next summer semester I plan on taking two more major prep courses so almost all of my major prep courses will be completed.

I have created the UC TAP planner account to keep track of what my courses count for etc, but I noticed when I put my IB Credit in for English it doesn’t say that it counts for an English credit. I asked a transfer counselor at UCSB about IB credits and she said IB HL Lit (Language A) counts for one english comp course, but I was just wondering if anyone else had this problem? Also, at least 30 of the units must be completed at a CCC does anyone know if dual enrollment courses count for that rule? Or is it only applicable to college courses taken after high school? Does anyone know where to find the 2021 agreement for TAG? All I have found is the 2019-2020 one and I am not sure if that is the most accurate one I should be following. Can someone who has TAG’d before give me some insight on whether or not my plan is correct? Can someone explain to me what GPA I need to earn, most people say 3.4, but other people have said 2.75? Does anyone know of any great scholarships for transfer students to apply for?

The 2021 TAG will come out in summer.

The IB may or may not fulfill if you do not have IGETC but you will have it, so if the CCC signs off on it you’ll be covered. The planner and application don’t always show things correctly so don’t worry about it.

In the actual application (and TAP) you may have to manually add in the IB as a course so it recognizes that you have English. That’s what people do with AP.

Thank you so much! Can you explain to me how to manually add the exam onto the TAP program?

Well I’m not sure as I can’t see the new layout, but basically fill it out so course number is IB, description is the test name, grade is score, then note in the additional comments that it fulfills IGETC english.
