UCSB TAG Agreement

Hi everyone I am transferring to UCSB for Data Science after a year at a CC. These are my stats so far

College Courses: 9 UC Transferrable Units
AP/IB Credits: 21 Semester Units

College Courses for the Fall: 16 units
College Courses for the Spring: 14 units

For a TAG agreement you need a math course and an english course before the fall that you apply. I took a math course (Precalculus and Trigonometry) that was 6 units credit/no credit and got english credit for my IB test. On my TAP planner my Precalc class does not show up as a “math” course? Does anyone know if you take a math course credit/no credit if it will count for the math requirement for the TAG agreement?

The math course had to be taken and result in a grade of C or better. While you can use test credit to fulfill the requirement, they do require a letter grade for the required courses that are not being completed by testing.

But did you take the Pre-Calc/Trig course this spring? If so, they’ve waived the requirement for a letter grade due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

What CCC are you at? What is the specific math course? That will tell us the transferability.

The no letter grade works for gen ed (in other word TAG). A P = a C.

A Pass usually does not work for major requirements unless specifically stated as accepted. However, if it was last spring and your college made all its courses P/NP the UC will accept it. But I assume pre-calc is a pre-req to the actual major courses so it is fine if that is the case.

Another possibility -if you took another pre-calc you likely won’t get unit credit for the second pre-calc. Is this De Anza?
