I've been accepted to UCSB with Regents and most likely to UCLA as well as I received the likely letter. My choice of major at both schools is Engineering.

UCLA was initially my preference, but am now seriously considering UCSB due to the Regents scholarship. Would the perks of Regents make SB a better choice? Or is it better to go to UCLA? Which school is better for engineering?

UCLA is definitely more better for engineering, but you have to ask yourself whether you can afford to pay UCLA’s tution or not. If you’re going to struggle financially, UCSB would be a better option. But remember, both campuses and their environments are quite different, so you should tour those colleges and find out which one you like more!

I second tigerash. You need to think about what you want most from your school and consider all the pros and cons of UCLA and UCSB. What matters most to you and what are you looking for? Which campus is the better fit for those preferences and your career and social goals? Do you care about having high prestige? How big will the burden be if you have to pay for the full cost of attendance? Do the engineering programs seem pretty similar, or does one campus offer certain specializations that you’re interested in? What kind of campus do you want? What kind of local neighboring area would you want to live in? Like tigerash said, you should take a tour of both.
