UCSC Conundrum

I was admitted to UCSC for computer science a few days ago. The admission’s contract states that I must complete ALL screening major selection criteria for computer science. I meet all the requirements, except for a discrete math course. I didn’t take the course, and on my UC app didn’t indicate that I would take the course for Spring 2019, the semester before I transfer. Yet, I was still admitted.

I emailed a rep about this and they said that my admission could be in jeopardy if I did not take the class. Amusingly, they recommended I enroll in the class, even though the semester is nearly over and new enrollments are impossible.

I figured that I should have been rejected outright, as, given the info presented on my UC app, I’d never be able to fufill the admissions contract. Any advice on how to proceed from here would be much appreciated.

It does say for both CS BA and BS that discrete math MUST be completed. It says it at the top. If you can’t fit in spring (obviously) I suggest you add it for summer and duke it out with admissions.
