Guys I accidentally SIR’ed to UCSC -_-
@BlackPlasma lol man. GG. To be fair, it could be worse - where else are you waiting to hear from?
@goldencub
Mainly from UCSB.
Pretty much this happened.

@goldencub
There are 7 pages to the SIR, I finished my six page of info and thought that there was an additional page left so I was going to leave it at that when I pressed ‘continue on page 6’ It said “Congratulations UCSC is now your University!”
And im like. "-__-. Well, fuuudge im done. GG.
Sent the admissions office an email. Though they are closed right now.
Dis me when I saw that message

Someone please whisper me some words of comfort.
@BlackPlasma Don’t they let you retract your SIR if you decide you want to go somewhere else that accepts you? I think you just lose the $100 you pay. That’s what i’ve heard, anyway.
@boxandwhiskers
I didn’t pay anything. Though I had gotten a fee waiver.
IM fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu ckeddd
Are admission updates only coming out every Thursday at midnight?
Update for anyone who is curious.
Just called UCSC admissions and told them my status, I had sent email last night so the guy on the other end forwarded to the correct person who will take of it. He asked me if I wanted to withdraw it, though he made it clear that withdrawing was not the same as declining admissions offer. I was told that it would just reset the SIR application. At most it should take me a few days. Though today is Friday so maybe I won’t hear back until next week about it.
@BlackPlasma lol. I did the same thing! Except UCSC is my first choice. Does it really influence the decisions from other UCs?
@grinchmeup he was probably not referring to your declining to attend, but rather the infantile and disrespectful attitude you seem to have towards UCSC and the fact that you laughed at them for giving you an opportunity anyone would (and should) be grateful for, completing pre-requisites in the summer, or even next Fall.
There is a way to respectfully decline offers and be grateful nonetheless for them, something you seem to not have learned yet. There are many people looking at this thread who will not be accepted to UCSC and it’s rude and inconsiderate to say things like “Wow UCSC is thirsty af.”
@grinchmeup what’s your major?
@grinchmeup I’m a psych major too. I haven’t heard anything yet and I did take pre calc what grade did you get in statistics?
@grinchmeup im currently taking stats maybe that’s why I didn’t hear back. My gpa is 3.53
@grinchmeup what’s your gpa? And yah I’m taking research methods right now too
@grinchmeup Yes l love how sunny UCSC is
@grinchmeup oops my last post got cut off. But yah it’s pretty much my first choice but also my last name is very far down the list which might have something to do with it
@grinchmeup well Uc Berkeley is pretty cold and I’m still waiting on ucb,Davis, Merced, and usf, location wise UCSC is my favorite
