Between UCSC and UCR, which one has the strongest science department?

Any admitted student get their financial aid package yet?

For those accepted, did you get notified by email first? Or, did the acceptance appear only on the ucsc account?
Anyways, yay! congrats do those accepted
Mine only showed up in the portal.
@thenick0999 Still waiting on my financial aid package as well… On the website they state financial aid packages will be posted the first week in April… Lets hope they’re posted by tomorrow or there’s no telling how long we’ll be waiting :-SS
Hey guys
Probably the least qualified applicant but I got accepted with a 2.67 for mathematics missing two pre reqs. I did take a couple years break from school and did decent my last couple terms though. Don’t know if that helps. Those of you still waiting, have hope!
@UCmathematics Damn, you give me hope, lmao. No offense, man. You must have done something right somewhere down the line.
Rejected this morning
SDSU to UC transfer
GPA: 3.98 Major GPA: 3.98
Prereqs: Completed
Major: Computer Science
EC’S: App Developer, volunteering, manager at my workplace( work while in school)
Applied: UCSB, UCSC, UCB, UCLA UCD
Rejected: UCSC
Thoughts: Pretty bummed actually, I really like santa cruz and could definitely see myself there and it’s alot closer to home. Congratulations to everyone who got in!!
I have a 3.37 GPA and I’m a CS major. I got a 2000 on my Sat with 790 in math. Ive also been working as a CS teachers assistant at my comm college but besides that most ECs were from high school. I have a good upward trend in my grades and I spent a long time working on my essays but not sure how good they are. Got rejected today. Think I have hope for any other UC? Haven’t gotten accepted anywhere and only ones I didn’t apply to were merced and Riverside.
@SDSU84 Why do you want to leave SDSU?
@yakattak
While I love SDSU and San Diego, I just feel that I need a change of environment. It was fun the first two years, but it just really has the feeling of a party school still, and I wanted to put myself in a more academic setting. Also, I feel like the CS department at SDSU isn’t the best. Classes seem too easy and dumbed down.
@SDSU84 Well, UCSC’s selection criteria seem to be kind of unorthodox. I can’t see why they would reject you. I took another look at the criteria for admittance into the econ majors and I have all the pre reqs done with a 4.0. And yet, I smell future rejection in the air. LOL.
I’d imagine that you’d have to get into at least one of your other choices.
@yakattak
Thanks for the encouraging words! I hope you get in haha, I CAN’T see you getting rejected honestly. I might appeal but I’m not really sure what to say other than just reconsider me haha. Anyways good luck for UCSC and the other schools you applied to
Is there a way to see why you were denied by calling admissions? Would they tell you?
Got rejected. I was missing 2 prerequisite.
Good luck everyone. I’m out of here.
