Definitely not. Trends have shown throughout the day that it is not based off of alphabetical order. Perhaps, though, it could be based off of major

CS. i’ve given up hope. at this point i’d be ecstatic just to be waitlisted for my 2nd choice- undeclared.

I think that those who haven’t gotten their acceptance (seeing the March 30th message, including me) means that they’re going to be rejected or waitlisted. But even if you’re waitlisted, it seems that it’s very unlikely that you’ll be able to attend according to the forum posts of the previous years.
Sigh.
@Dawg619 Oh I see I see. I only know of people who got into Human Bio and Neuroscience (and physiology?)
I applied for bioengineering but got admitted to my alternate (biology with specialization in bioinformatics) and into Muir (1st choice)

GUYS PLEASE READ THIS
I know everyone who got the 30th march thing on the portal is saying they got rejected, but that’s false!
The only people who heard back with accepted news was those that applied with STEM majors (those science related stuff, including comp sci and computer engineering, etc), business (communications, economy, and others)!!
NO ONE here said that they got accepted with their major selected as an art major, english major, journalism, etc. (I’ve been reading EVERYTHING of what people posted on this forum since the page was like 80, so this info is reliable)
MY ASSUMPTION is that they are releasing it by the majors.
So if you applied as a different major than the stem or business stuff that I mentioned, such as art major or other stuff, YOURS DIDN’T COME OUT YET!! (except for those that got a phone call earlier this month)
I’m not sure about those who applied as majors that I mentioned (science, business, etc) and got the 30th march message; you might have gotten rejected but BUT ALWAYS HAVE HOPE!
