UCSD Class of 2020 Discussion

@jackisawesome thank u for giving me some hope love!!! I really needed it ! Good luck to you :slight_smile: I hope u hear good news soon :heart:

BTW probably won’t be able to leave the thread xD

Looks like no updates have happened today.

@jackisawesome LOL it’s hard to let go of CC :stuck_out_tongue:

I just want you guys to know that your positivity is definitely encouraging and helpful for me and I’m sure a lot of others as well. May we find out sooner than later and I just know that whatever happens, THIS does not define us.

Is it true that supplementals really only help URM’s get in. They have a high percentage with supplemental whereas Asians and white have a much lower chance of getting in with supplemental. I read this on the UCLA thread I think. Is this true ?

Time: 11AM
Status: No update. March 30ed.

Will check again at 12PM.

I made the decision that I won’t check my portal until Monday. Hopefully there is a solid decision by then instead of this March 30 bull honkey

@pleaseacceptme99 I don’t know if that’s true, as for UCs, it is illegal to use race at all in the admission process. Race only helps for scholarships in the UCs.

@vimyle same.

I got into UCSB with the chancellors reception for top applicants, but still waiting on UCSD. Aren’t these 2 colleges pretty similar with acceptances?

Hi y’all, I’ve been watching this thread since Thursday and finally got around to making an account :slight_smile: . I’m a student from Washington State and my portal still says that my decision will be posted sometime before March 30th. I called the university yesterday around 4:00 pm to ask why and they told me to call back on Monday. The only other girl I know who also applied to UCSD from my school got the same message on her portal as well. I just wanted to say good luck to everyone who got the indecisive message on their portal and hopefully we all will get an update by Monday.

@jackisawesome here are real values of acceptances with supplemental and what I wrote seems to hold true

@sjillian15
I think UCSD is typically thought of as harder but the dismfference in admissions is small (33.4% versus 36.1%). Additionally UCSB has an average gpa of 4.05 and a SAT of 1930 while UCSD has an average GPA of 4.13 and SAT of 2030. They are similar, but UCSD is a bit harder to get into.

Congrats on SB!!

I had a dream that I was rejected, maybe this is a sign…

I know this sounds ridiculous, but I had the same dream too LOL

Dude… I had the same exact dream…

okay so i’ve been watching this forum this whole weekend but i’ve never made an account. i also received the supplemental and have no decision made!

LOL #rejectionsquad

my heart hurts a little when everyone posts on their instagrams going #ucsdbound! CONGRATS, but ouch…
