UCSD Class of 2020 Discussion

@ronnied you just got it as in it was just updated? Or did you just check?

So ucsd usually accepts 20 people from my school, and so far around 20 have been accepted. Sorry everyone, the truth hurts I guess :frowning:

@kaatherinee i dont know when it was updated, but I got the email saying my decision is out about a few hours ago and I checked right then

they release decisions on saturday?

The MyApplication is currently unavailable. Perhaps this may be a sign that they are uploading more decisions?

@iamprolollz The portal was updated at 3PM on Friday, but UCSD sent an email telling people they’ve been accepted/check their portals on Saturday.

I’ve had the March 30 message for the past two days… but I just logged in and i have “System Unavailable
The system is temporarily unavailable. Please come back later.” Anyone else? Does this mean they are uploading now?

@iamprolollz I got my email notification at 12:00 pm PST on Saturday. so yeah
@and1kingbro yeah I would think so… i think they are in fact doing it in batches. that would be the only explanation as to why certain decisions are available before others. That or then they’re doing it on a space-available basis, choosing the best applicants first then moving to the next list or whatever…

keep the faith guys, the decisions aren’t even supposed to be out till the 30th of March so whatever has come till now is early anyway!! :slight_smile:

guys, sometimes they upload it early and don’t notify you… I would suggest regularly checking, cause sometimes they won’t tell you until way later… thats what happened with me and a few of my other colleges.

Time: 12:05 AM
Status: No update.

@vimyle maybe the server is crashing cause tons of people are trying to check their statuses?? just a thought…

First, what UCSD is doing to you guys is truly upsetting me and the university should take notice and never repeat this awful practice in the future.

Next, there are definitely waitlist spots still left and probably a low number of acceptances still to come, so none of you should lose all hope, but given the lack of rejections posted here, am inclined to believe that if the odds were 33% before Friday, March 11, they have dropped probably to anywhere from 1% to 15% for those who did not get the acceptance on Friday. You should still hope for the best, but be prepared For a possible rejection. Regardless, keep your head up and make your future bright no matter where you go to school. Good luck and God bless you all.

@RonnieD that could be it…or they’re updating…

@vimyle yup for sure

My portal is working and still no decision.

@Justshootme not really sure where those percentages are from.

It’s important to remember that speculation is just that- speculation. It’s really not helpful to toss out statistics without any backing like that.

It works for me

At 12:08 I had System temporarily unavailable, just relogged in and it has now changed to “System Error. Please report the following to the Customer Service Representative or call the ACT Help Desk at (858) 534-1853 or (858) 534-3187 (after business hours).”
What the hell UCSD!??

My portal is fine now!

@chlove98 try checking with a different browser- some people reported Friday that certain web browsers did not work for them.

did you guys know that in 2009 UCSD sent a congratulations mail to all their applicants and then a few days later sent an apology mail and retracted most of the offers? :open_mouth: definitely looks like technology isn’t their thing :stuck_out_tongue: so given that I wouldn’t worry that the system is crashing
