UCSD Class of 2020 Discussion

@t19305 I don’t know about exact dates, but this is what their website says," UC San Diego notifies recipients of Regents Scholarships in March, along with the admission notice."

^^ my internet is slow so I didn’t notice I basically repeated the person above me :expressionless:

@mierdil Warren here! I heard its a little dead socially but I’m hoping thats not true :stuck_out_tongue:

@gonewiththeair Poli Sci sounds like a great major, I’m really looking forward to the courses. If you don’t mind me asking which of the colleges did you apply to?

@stupefy13 My first choice college is Muir but I know that Muir is the college that is the most applied to lol. My second choice college is Eleanor Roosevelt and my third choice is Warren! What’s your first choice college?
I really hope we find out soon! Hopefully we only have another 3-4 weeks to go, but that’s still a long time to wait!

Would you take UCSD over Cal Poly @gonewiththeair?

@Baylorpoly yes, probably. I’d like to go see Cal Poly again before making any decisions, but as of now if I got into UCSD I’d pick it over Cal Poly.

Where did you live? Didn’t you get in under business at Cal Poly and does UCSD have a solid business program?

@Baylorpoly I live in San Diego! I got into Cal Poly for economics but applied to UCSD for political science. I think I’d rather do political science, but I really do like economics, so that’s definitely something else to consider for me. UCSD does have a very good political science program, and I can definitely go into what I want to do with almost any major.

Cal poly SLO great place to feel like you got away but not too far. Cal poly graduation employment rates are epic. Lots of internship opportunities. I imagine UCSD is dialed in as well for internships. Don’t think UCSD has a business program do they?

@Baylorpoly UCSD has a business minor but not a business major.
Yes, I think both schools are absolutely fantastic! Cal Poly is definitely further away from home and I absolutely love the area but La Jolla is probably one of my favorite places ever lol.
I don’t think I can make a bad choice either way- but I still have yet to get into UCSD, so who knows.

Yes it’s a win-win. La Jolla will always be there when you graduate and come home to visit. Avila Beach, Pismo Beach and Morro Bay are awesome. You have to rent an ATV on the Oceano Dunes on your next visit to SLO. Are you going up on the open house weekend April 15-16?

@Baylorpoly unfortunately that conflicts with school for me so I don’t think I’ll be able to attend, but depending on where I get in I may just skip school to go to the Open House!

Might be just the ticket

anyone know when we will be hearing back from UCSD??

@bascombadger123 probably in another 3-4 weeks xx

According to Ms. Sun’s blog, notifications are March 13.

God the wait is awful! I picked biopsychology :stuck_out_tongue:

@jackisawesome what is biopsychology?? It sounds really fascinating! I chose chemical engineering

@crowlady Do you mind sending me the link? I can’t find that page on the web.

The March 13 date was last year’s, I believe. March 13 is on a Sunday this year, so I highly doubt they’ll be releasing decisions then.
